A distinctive feature of Thonburi is the ligature present when ‘f ’ and ‘i’ are paired. This feature makes obvious the functionality and influence of the Bauhaus with straight, clear lines how-ever this ligature is not present in Helvetica.
The counter in the ‘a’ has a slightly heavier bowl in comparison to the Helvetica one which sits steady on
the baseline.
Thonburi is very similar to Helvetica with a more elon-gated form. It comes with only two weights of regular and bold. Much like Helvetica, Thonburi works very well with a tighter kerning, left aligned and bold.

*Thonburi on the left. The ‘Q’ has a distinctive tail that brings a rare curve into the mainly angular typeface and resembles an upside down plum.
The ‘G’ looks a little bit unsteady in comparison to the solid structure of Helvetica, like it is ready to topple forward.
The ‘k’ has an even form and a delicate and digital aesthetic, the pin point of contact between the leg and the ascender is a way of identifying Thonburi.
