Tynehead Regional Park Tynehead Perimeter Trail Vision for the Trail The trail welcomes everyone and helps create a sense of place by integrating a variety of natural and man-made features. It protects and enhances the park’s features and natural processes and strives to educate visitors about the Serpentine River and its watershed. It provides for healthy outdoor activities and experiences through a sequence of diverse landscapes. Connections to areas outside the park increase the trail’s significance. City of Surrey - Bicycle & Pedestrian Overpass at Highway 1 Natural and Unnatural History of Tynehead Regional Park Interpretive enhancements, which depend less on words and more on struc- tures and art, will be used to convey a sense of place and an understanding of how natural and human activities (unnatural history) have shaped the park’s ecosystems. Two and three dimensional items located along the trail and at story stations will peak interest and provide insight into the park’s ephemeral streams, grasslands, invasive species, wildlife and farming history. The trail fosters connections between, two diverse sides of the park a variety of landscapes and habitats the Serpentine River to its headwaters people to nature * MV received a grant of $1 million, for Phase 1 of the trail, from Recreation Infrastructure Canada - a program of Canada’s Economic Action Plan * City of Surrey, in co-operation with Metro Vancouver, is providing a north-south pedestrian/cycling bridge across Highway 1 at the 168th Street Staging Area.
