InsightDuring my experience as a Mobile Developer Intern for Clemson’s UPIC Program, the extent of the technical

knowledge I gained was heavily focused on iOS application development. In just under two months I was able to learn Apple’s new programming language, Swift, which is the core of iOS application development. By learning Swift, I was able to pace myself in completing the major projects I was assigned before the end of the internship. In order to complete these projects, I had to effectively communicate with my team members and ask the right questions about whatever I was stuck on. By asking the right questions, I was able to overcome an incremental step towards the path of completing my projects and build upon my professional team communication skills. By completing projects and strengthening my professional team communication skills, I hope to one day work on future mobile applications with fellow colleagues and friends. My advice to future interns is to keep an open mind about the technical knowledge to be gained. At first, it may seem overwhelming, but keeping at it and applying the knowledge you gain in the form of an app is a great way to prove your knowledge and further advance as a programmer.
