Can I take Tylenol with codeine and fluconazole together?Yes.

Can I take Allegra and Tylenol Sinus together?Tylenol Sinus (acetaminophen, pseudoephedrine) may have several different formulations. If you have the pain/decongestant combination,

there are no direct drug interactions with Allegra (fexofenadine).

Can I take Tylenol PM while taking Xarelto, Cardizem and digoxin for afib? The Tylenol PM (acetaminophen w/diphenhydramine) has no direct drug interactions with Xarelto (rivaroxaban), Cardizem (diltiazem) or digoxin (Lanoxin). Take these three medications exactly as prescribed by your physician.

Is it OK to mix acetaminophen and 10mg of Adderall? There are no direct drug interactions between acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts).

Can I take Tylenol Severe Cold and Flu after benzonatate? There are two Tylenol Cold and Flu Severe products (Daytime and Nighttime). Neither of these will interact with benzonatate.

Can I take Tylenol if I took phentermine in the morning? There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol (acetaminophen) and phentermine (Adipex).

What is the difference between Tylenol extra-strength and Panadol?Panadol and Tylenol are both brand names of acetaminophen. Panadol is usually found in UK countries. Tylenol is found in the US.

I'm taking guaifenesin/codeine100 5ML. Is it OK to take Tylenol cold multi-symptom?There are several formulations of Tylenol Cold Multi-symptom Severe. Some have antihistamines, some do not but all have dextromethorphan. There may be an interaction with guaifenesin/codeine (Cheratussin AC). The interaction is due to increasing the chance or severity of the side effects. The formulas with antihistamines can make this even worse. You may feel drowsy or more tired when taking these drugs together.

Can I use Advil or Tylenol with Paxil, Klonopin and atenolol? The Tylenol (acetaminophen) does not have any direct interactions with any of the other medications. The Klonopin (clonazepam) does not have any direct interactions with any of the other medications. The Advil (ibuprofen) though, can interact with both the atenolol (Tenormin) and the Paxil (paroxetine), although in a minor way. The Advil, or any NSAID, taken for long periods of time, can decrease the ability of the atenolol (or any blood pressure medication) to control the blood pressure. If you check your own blood pressure

at home and notice an increase in your blood pressure, contact your health care provider. Many people can use these medications together without any issues. Please be aware there is a chance for unwanted problems. Continue to take your regular medications as prescribed. Always keep your medication list current, including OTC products. Make sure all of your health care providers have a current copy.

Can you take Tylenol Cold Multi Symptom Night Time Formula if you have taken Cheratussin AC?There is a chance for an interaction between these two medications. You may feel drowsy or more tired when taking codeine cough syrups and antihistamines, like chlorpheniramine, together. Although an interaction is possible, these drugs are often used together. If you have high blood pressure or heart disease, please speak to your physician before taking any oral decongestant like phenylephrine.

I take Cymbalta 60mg. Can I take Tylenol or any type of cold medication?Cymbalta (duloxetine) does not interact with Tylenol Cold: (acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine). If you have high blood pressure or heart disease, many cold products contain an oral decongestant (pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine). These products can constrict the blood vessels and make your heart work harder and/or your blood pressure to go up.

Can you take Cheratussin AC with Tylenol PM?There is an interaction between Cheratussin AC (guaifenesin w/codeine) and Tylenol PM (acetaminophen w/diphenhydramine), but it is along the lines of duplication and increasing the likelihood of side effects of these two medications. You may feel drowsy or more tired when taking these drugs together.

Can you take Tylenol Cold and Flu Severe and Midol Complete at the same time? Both Tylenol Cold and Flu Severe (acetaminophen, pseudoephedrine, dextromethorphan) and Midol Complete (acetaminophen, pamabrom, pyrilamine), as well as many other cold products; contain acetaminophen (Tylenol). Can I take Cipro 500mg and Tylenol Cold or Tylenol Sinus together ?Some of the Tylenol Cold products have oral decongestants. If you have high blood pressure or heart disease, please speak to your doctor before taking this type of product. In theory, these drugs may interact in a beneficial manner. Generally, acetaminophen, pseudoephedrine products, antihistamines and Cipro (ciprofloxacin) may be used together with no adverse effects.

Can I take Tylenol and levofloxacin together?Yes. Take the antibiotic levofloxacin until finished.

It has been 8 hours since I took a Tylenol #3. Is it safe to take a Lortab now?Eight hours between doses is perfectly fine when alternating these two medicines. Both can cause drowsiness.

Can you take Suprax 400mg with Tylenol Sinus Congestion/Pain?Yes. There are no direct drug interactions between Suprax (cefixime) and Tylenol Sinus Congestion/Pain (acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, phenylephrine).

Can I take Ativan and Tylenol?Yes. There are no direct drug interactions between Ativan (lorazepam) and Tylenol (acetaminophen).

Can you take fluconazole with Tylenol extra strength or Midol? There is a slight chance of an interaction between fluconazole (Diflucan) and some forms of Midol that include ibuprofen (Motrin). The fluconazole may lead to increased blood levels of ibuprofen. Side effects from ibuprofen may get worse if you take fluconazole. If you notice new or worsening side effects such as stomach pain or heartburn, bleeding, difficulty passing urine or decreased urination, notify your health care provider. You may want to just stick to the Tylenol while taking the fluconazole.

Can I take Tylenol Cold Multi-Symptom with Afrin?Even though the Afrin (oxymetazoline) is a nasal spray/drop, there can be a severe interaction with Tylenol Cold Severe Multi-symptom (acetaminophen, dextromethorphan, guaifenesin, phenylephrine). Taking phenylephrine containing products with the oxymetazoline can increase the risk of high blood pressure, nervousness, palpitations,

problems with sleep or other serious side effects. You could try using saline nasal spray (Ocean) to help open the nasal passages

What Tylenol, aspirin or Bayer product contains Dramamine and promethazine?Tylenol (acetaminophen) and aspirin are each mixed with many different products but neither are combined with promethazine (Phenergan) or either formulation of Dramamine (dimenhydrinate or meclizine).

Can I take digoxin and Tylenol PM together?Yes. The Tylenol product should be taken just prior to bedtime. Digoxin is normally taken in the morning.

I'm taking ciprofloxacin 500mg. Can I take Tylenol with Codeine for pain?

Yes. Take the ciprofloxacin until finished, and the Tylenol with Codeine only as needed.

Would it hurt to take Tylenol with codeine just two hours after you took Tylenol extra strength?Tylenol (acetaminophen) is recommended to be taken no sooner than every four hours, but the major concern is keeping the daily amount of acetaminophen to be under 3000mg. If you are still having pain and can take ibuprofen (Motrin), I would suggest using a different pain reliever.

Can I take acetaminophen and trazodone together?Yes. Take the acetaminophen only as needed.

I took Robitussin with codeine. I still have a headache. Can I take Tylenol?Yes. They may be taken together if needed. Only take these as necessary.

Can I take Tylenol with Zantac?Yes. They may be taken together if needed.

I am taking Zoloft. Can I take Tylenol? There are no direct drug interactions between Zoloft (sertraline) and Tylenol (acetaminophen). They may be taken together, if needed. Limit the total daily amount of Tylenol to 3000mg.

Can I take Tylenol Arthritis while I am taking colchicine for gout? There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol Arthritis (acetaminophen) and colchicine. They may be taken together if needed.

Can I take Tylenol with milk?Milk will not affect the absorption of Tylenol (acetaminophen) in any form.

Can I take Tylenol and a codeine cough syrup? The most common side effect involves Central Nervous System depression: reduced breath volume, drowsiness, sedation, confusion, dizziness and even hallucinations. Next would be GI disturbances: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn and constipation. Then you need to worry about liver function with the Tylenol. Limit the total daily amount of Tylenol (acetaminophen) to 3000mg. If you have specific questions, talk to your pharmacist or doctor.

I'm taking Flexeril 10mg. After four hours can I take Tylenol Extra-Strength?Yes. They may be taken together. Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) can cause drowsiness. Be careful if you must be alert. Limit Tylenol to no more than 3000mg in 24 hours.

Can I take acetaminophen while taking Flagyl 500mg?Yes. They may be taken together if needed. Limit Tylenol to no more than 3000mg in 24 hours, and take the Flagyl until finished with food or milk to prevent the bad taste that this drug causes.

You can alternate days -- Monday-Wednesday-Friday with one and Sunday-Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday with the other. Take both only as needed, and take the prescribed amount. If you still have trouble, talk to your doctor. There are several other things one can do to facilitate sleep. A lifestyle coach may be helpful.

Can I take Tylenol with 500mg tablets of ciprofloxacin (Cipro)?Yes. They may be taken together if needed. Ciprofloxacin is normally taken on an empty stomach. Take the antibiotic until completed and the Tylenol only when needed. Limit the

Tylenol to 3000mg per 24 hours.

What are apap-codeine drug interactions?Generally speaking, apap with codeine (Tylenol with codeine) can interact with any medication that may cause drowsiness or constipation. The codeine would increase both of these problems. If you take any medication that can irritate the stomach or GI tract, again the codeine can increase these effects. The recommended daily limit for Tylenol (acetaminophen or APAP) is 3000mg.

Can Tramadol, Tylenol #3 and Benadryl be taken together?

There are interactions between all of these medications. Tramadol (Ultram), Tylenol #3 (acetaminophen with codeine) and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) all cause drowsiness. You may feel drowsy or more tired when taking these drugs together. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these drugs affect you. If you notice slurred speech, confusion, severe weakness, seizures, difficulty breathing, decreased pain relief, increased nausea, vomiting, dizziness, constipation, tremor or other unusual effects, contact your physician immediately. Limit your daily intake of all Tylenol products to 3000mg.

Can I take a Tylenol with clarithromycin 500mg?There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol and clarithromycin (Biaxin). They may be taken together. Take clarithromycin until f inished. Take it with food if your stomach becomes upset. Limit the Tylenol to not more than 3000mg per day.

Can I take Tylenol Sinus and Phenergan?Yes. They may be taken together. Take only as needed. Phenergan can cause drowsiness. If you have high blood pressure or heart problems, talk to your doctor before taking any oral decongestant like pseudoephedrine.

Can I take Tylenol PM and vitamins at the same time (vitamins: joint soother, omega 3 fish oil, c-100mg, beta-carotene, and E-400iu)?There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine), and these vitamins and supplements. Take Tylenol PM only as needed and when you are ready for sleep. Limit the daily amount of Tylenol to no more than 3000mg.

Can I take Tylenol with metoprolol?Yes. They may be taken together. Take no more than 3000mg Tylenol per day.

Can you mix Tylenol Body Pain, Crestor and aspirin 81mg daily low-dose together?Although an interaction is possible, these drugs are sometimes used together. While the combination of Tylenol and aspirin (or any salicylate) is helpful to treat pain, kidney side effects are possible with high doses or long-term use. Limit the daily intake of Tylenol to 3000mg. Crestor (rosuvastatin) can be taken with either of these. One side note: Tylenol Body Pain is nothing more than 650mg of acetaminophen (2 regular strength Tylenol or generic).

    Does acetaminophen affect sinus function?

No. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is a pain- and fever-reducing medication. It does not affect any sinus function.

Does Tylenol elevate blood sugar?Tylenol does not affect blood sugar readings. You may take Tylenol if you are diabetic. Take no more than 3000mg Tylenol per 24 hours.

Can I take Tylenol Flu and cephalexin?Yes. They may be taken together. Take the cephalexin until complete and the Tylenol product only as needed.

Can I take Tylenol Cold PM with melatonin, Flexeril and mefloquine?

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is a problem with both Tylenol Cold PM (acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan, phenylephrine) and mefloquine (Lariam). The interaction with the Tylenol product can cause more drowsiness, dry mouth and difficulty with urination. The problem with the antimalarial is possible heart problems. Taking these drugs together can increase the risk of a dangerous change in heartbeat or heart rhythm. Talk to your doctors regarding your medications. They may already be monitoring your heart functions.

Can you take Tylenol Extra-Strength when you are on phentermine?Yes.

Is it okay to take Tylenol when I have taken Aleve? You may take them together, but I would suggest alternating the doses with at least 2 hours between the drugs. Take Aleve with food or milk and limit Tylenol to no more than 3000mg per day.

Can I take Tylenol Sinus Congestion and Pain with Loratadine Severe Allergy and Head Cold? The issue with taking both Tylenol Sinus Congestion and Pain (acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, phenylephrine) with loratadine (Claritin) is the duplication of antihistamines. Chlorpheniramine is a short-acting, possibly sedating antihistamine, and loratadine is a long-acting nonsedating antihistamine. You may feel excessive dry mouth and possibly increased drowsiness taking both. If you only have allergy symptoms, stick with loratadine. If you have pain, fever or congestion, just take the Tylenol product. Take both only as needed.

Can I take Tylenol PM with tizanidine? You could feel drowsy or more tired when taking these drugs together, because of the diphenhydramine in Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine). Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these drugs affect you. If you take plain Tylenol, there are no problems.

Can I take Tylenol Extra-Strength Rapid Release Gels with Paxil and Klonopin?Yes. They may be taken together if needed. Klonopin can cause drowsiness.

Can I take Tylenol #3 with Extra-Strength Tylenol?Yes. There are no interactions between plain Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Tylenol #3 (acetaminophen with codeine). Limit your daily consumption of acetaminophen to 3000mg or less.

I have a sulfa allergy. Is it safe to take Robitussin DM with Tylenol?Yes. They may be taken together with plenty of water. The sulfa allergy poses no problem with either. Limit the Tylenol to no more than 3000mg/day, and drink plenty of water with the Robitussin.

Can I take Tylenol PM and a CVS brand Cold and Sinus Relief medicine together? If the ingredients of the CVS Cold and Sinus product are ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine, there are no direct interactions with Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with

diphenhydramine). Take any NSAID like ibuprofen with food or milk to avoid stomach upset. If you have high blood pressure or heart problems, you should avoid oral nasal decongestants, like pseudoephedrine. Limit the daily amount of acetaminophen to 3000mg. Take both of these only as needed.

Can I take Tylenol #3 with Sudafed? There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol #3 (acetaminophen with codeine) and Sudafed (pseudoephedrine). They may be taken together.

Can I take Tylenol PM if I'm taking atenolol 100mg?Yes. There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine) and atenolol (Tenormin). They may be taken together at bedtime.

I'm taking chlorpheniramine/hydrocodone. Can I take Tylenol for fever?Yes. There are no direct drug interactions between chlorpheniramine/hydrocodone (Tussionex) and Tylenol. They may be taken together. Limit Tylenol to no more than 3000mg per day. Take the cough syrup no more than twice daily. This may cause extreme drowsiness, so be careful if you must be alert.

Can I take Tylenol Cold with amphetamine salts? No. Tylenol Cold (acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine) has a severe interaction potential with amphetamine salts and any related drug.

I took Tylenol Sinus at 10 am. It is now 6 p.m., and I have fever. Can I take Tylenol Extra-Strength Rapid Release Gels?Yes. You may take the Extra-Strength Tylenol (acetaminophen) within 6 hours of the Tylenol Sinus (acetaminophen with pseudoephedrine).

Can I take Tylenol and doxycycline at the same time?Yes. There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol and doxycycline (Vibramycin). They may be taken together. Take doxycycline on an empty stomach, without vitamins/minerals/calcium or milk products for three hours or so. Take until finished or as otherwise prescribed by the doctor.

Can I take Micardis with Equate, acetaminophen and metformin?Yes. There are no direct drug interactions between Micardis (telmisartan), Equate (dextrose), acetaminophen and metformin (Glucophage). Take metformin before meals, without alcohol. Limit acetaminophen to no more than 3000mg per day.

I'm taking ciprofloxacin and methylprednisolone. Can I take Tylenol PM timed release capsules when I can't fall asleep? There are no direct drug interactions between ciprofloxacin (Cipro), methylprednisolone (Medrol) and Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine). Take the ciprofloxacin and methylprednisolone until finished. Take Medrol with food to prevent stomach upset.Tylenol PM should only be used if you can devote at least six hours for sleep. Taking the

steroid late in the day could keep you awake. If this is the case, take all the daily doses by at least four hours prior to bedtime. Limit your total daily intake of Tylenol to no more than 3000mg. If you do not have pain or fever, you could take plain Benadryl for sleep.

Can I take Tylenol Cold Multi-Symptom with penicillin if I am a diabetic?Yes. There are no direct drug interactions between any type of penicillin and Tylenol Cold Multi-Symptom medication, unless you are allergic to penicillin, or if you have high blood pressure or heart problems. Talk to your physician if you have heart problems before taking any oral decongestant.

Can I take Tylenol PM with Phenergan?Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine) can interact with Phenergan (promethazine) by causing Central Nervous System depression and additive drowsiness. I would suggest taking plain Tylenol with the Phenergan at bedtime or only take the Phenergan early in the day if you can. It is the diphenhydramine (Benadryl) part of the

Tylenol PM that interacts with the Phenergan.

Does acetaminophen make your heart race?Tylenol (acetaminophen) does not increase the heart rate by itself. There are several pain/cold combinations that have acetaminophen with decongestants which can increase the heart rate (race). When taking acetaminophen, limit the daily amount to 3000mg or less. If you have any type of heart condition or high blood pressure, contact your physician before taking any oral decongestant.

Can I take Claritin and Tylenol together?Yes. They may be taken together. Limit the Tylenol to no more than 3000mg per day.

Can I take Tylenol PM with chlorpheniramine maleate? No. Take one or the other, but not both. There is a duplication of antihistamines if you take the Tylenol PM and chlorpheniramine together. Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine) contains a very sedating antihistamine, and technically the chlorpheniramine is considered mildly sedating. Due to the duplicative pharmacology and potential for additive side effects, combining diphenhydramine with other antihistamines is not generally recommended.

Can I take Lovenox with Tylenol?Yes. Don't take aspirin or NSAIDs without talking to your physician. Rotate the

    Lovenox (enoxaparin) injection site.

Can I take Tylenol PM and Paxil at the same time?Yes. They may be taken together at bedtime. The PM part (diphenhydramine) can cause drowsiness.

Can I take Tylenol or other pain reliever with amoxicillin and Cheratussin AC? I have bronchitis and a sinus infection.Yes. There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol, amoxicillin and Cheratussin AC (guaifenesin with codeine). I cannot answer about "other pain reliever" without knowing specifically which you mean. Take amoxicillin until finished, and Tylenol or Cheratussin as needed. The codeine part of the cough syrup can cause drowsiness.

I take 20mg of Benicar, and started Z-pak today. Can I take Tylenol for a headache?Yes. There are no direct drug interactions between Benicar (olmesartan), Z-pak (Zithromax or azithromycin) and Tylenol (acetaminophen). Take the Z-pak each day until finished. Take the Benicar at the same time daily. Take the Tylenol only as needed and limit the Tylenol to 3000mg or less per day to protect your liver.

Can I mix Pamprin and Tylenol Cold MS?Take one or the other, but not both at the same time. Both have acetaminophen and an antihistamine. You could alternate doses, keeping in mind the drowsiness possibility, and limit your daily intake of acetaminophen to no more than 3000mg.

Can I take phentermine 37.5 (Adipex) in morning and take Tylenol Cold Multi-symptom Nighttime at night?Yes. But if you have high blood pressure or heart problems, talk to your physician before taking either of these drugs. They both can raise blood pressure.

Can Tylenol PM be taken with Benicar (olmesartan)?Yes. Only take Tylenol PM at bedtime, if you are having pain and cannot sleep. If you take the Benicar at bedtime, you may take it with Tylenol PM.

Can I take Tylenol with cephalexin (Keflex)?Yes. Take the cephalexin until finished or as directed by your physician. Do not take more than 3000mg of Tylenol per day -- 6 extra-strength tablets.

Can I take Tylenol PM while I'm taking Celebrex (celecoxib)?Yes but if Celebrex is controlling the pain, there is no reason to take the combination drug Tylenol PM at bedtime. Simply take Benadryl (diphenhydramine), which will make you sleepy. This could save you cost and keep you from taking an unnecessary added drug. Take Celebrex with food to avoid stomach upset.

Can I take Tylenol Sinus Severe while taking albuterol and Paxil? While there are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol Sinus Severe Congestion (acetaminophen, guaifenesin and pseudoephedrine), albuterol (Ventolin/Proventil/ProAir) and Paxil (paroxetine), there can be additive side effects between the Tylenol product and albuterol. The decongestant (pseudoephedrine) in the Tylenol and albuterol both can cause jittery nervousness and problems for people with high blood pressure or heart disease. Talk to your physician if you have either of these issues.

Can I take Tylenol PM with cold medicine? Not knowing what "cold medicine" you mean, I would suggest NO. Tylenol PM has acetaminophen and diphenhydramine, a fever/pain reducer and an antihistamine. Talk to your pharmacist when you need to select an over-the-counter medication.

Can I take Tylenol Cold with Zyrtec and Delsym? There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol Cold (acetaminophen w/diphenhydramine), Zyrtec (cetirizine) and Delsym (dextromethorphan), but there is a duplication of therapy. Tylenol Cold contains an antihistamine. Zyrtec is an

antihistamine. Check the label of your Tylenol, as there are several formulations with the name Tylenol Cold. If yours has an antihistamine, only take it at bedtime. If you take the Zyrtec for allergies, take it in the morning. This is a long-lasting nonsedating antihistamine. Drink plenty of water, and take Delsym and Tylenol as needed.

Can I take Robitussin and Tylenol Cold Nighttime in the same day? It's important to know the complete ingredients in medications, because of the multiple formulas of Robitussin and Tylenol Cold products. If it's plain Robitussin (guaifenesin) and regular Tylenol Cold (acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine), they are fine together. Duplication of ingredients can easily happen, however, when mixing Tylenol and Robitussin products. Have your pharmacist help choose the proper over-the-counter medication.

Can I take acetaminophen for headaches if I am taking colchicine for a gout attack?Yes. Drink plenty of water with the colchicine, and follow your physician's instruction on the proper amount and length of time to take this drug. Never take more than 3000mg acetaminophen per day. Ask your doctor for a list of foods to avoid, as some foods may trigger gout attacks or make you more likely to have an attack.

Is it OK to take 0.5 Mirapex and 800mg ibuprofen at the same time?Yes. Always take the ibuprofen with food or milk to protect the stomach and take only as needed. Mirapex has several indications and depending on the diagnosis could be taken 1 to 3 times daily. The dose is usually started low and tapered upward until the expected result is found. Mirapex can cause sleepiness, dizziness, confusion and unusual dreams. Be careful if you must be alert. Do not stop or change the dose of Mirapex without the

    doctor's advice.

Can Tylenol Cold and Sinus be taken with Zyrtec? The names of the Tylenol products change quite frequently, and currently there is not a Tylenol product with the name Tylenol Cold and Sinus. Most Tylenol cold products have some combination of antitussive, decongestant, antihistamine and acetaminophen. Check your container for the ingredients. If there is an antihistamine (usually chlorpheniramine or diphenhydramine), then do not take Zyrtec (cetirizine), which is an antihistamine. If you have high blood pressure or heart problems, do not take the Tylenol product if there is a decongestant (usually pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine). The decongestant could increase blood pressure or put a strain on your heart. For over-the-counter medications, ask the pharmacist to help in making the right selection. Always carry a list of your medications with you. Always read the packages and heed the warnings if they apply to

    you.

My father is on MS Contin 30 mg every 12 hours. Can he take Tylenol #3 in between his 12 hour doses of the MS Contin?MS Contin is a long-acting morphine pain reliever. Frequently, there is "breakthrough" pain. Many physicians order an immediate-release pain reliever to help. Only give the Tylenol #3 (acetaminophen with codeine) if this is prescribed for your father. The added codeine can cause additional drowsiness. Limit acetaminophen to 3000mg in 24 hours. If both medications were not prescribed by the same physician, contact the prescriber of the MS Contin before giving any Tylenol #3.

Can I take Tylenol PM while I am taking ciprofloxacin and metronidazole? Yes. Take the metronidazole with food or milk. This drug will leave an unusual taste in

your mouth. If you are taking Tylenol PM just to help sleep, consider taking plain diphenhydramine (Benadryl). This is the only part of this combination drug that will make you sleepy. Taking Tylenol (or any drug) without a reason is not a good idea. Take the ciprofloxacin and metronidazole until finished.

Can I take phentermine with Tylenol Sinus?Yes. If you have high blood pressure or heart problems, talk to your doctor before taking either of these medications. Limit daily Tylenol intake to less than 3000mg to avoid liver problems.

Can I take Motrin 800 and Tylenol #3 together?Yes. Avoid alcohol. Taking these together may increase stomach irritation. Take the Motrin

with food or milk. Tylenol #3 can cause drowsiness. Take these only as needed and l imit the total amount of Tylenol to 3000mg per 24 hours.

Can I take Tylenol PM while taking methylprednisolone?Yes. Tylenol PM is only indicated for use at bedtime for people who cannot sleep due to pain. Methylprednisolone is normally used for an allergy reaction or rash. Take it with food or milk. If you have severe itching, taking plain diphenhydramine can help relieve the histamine response and reduce the itch. Take with caution if you must be alert, as this will cause drowsiness. Limit daily amount of Tylenol to no more than 3000mg. Take methylprednisolone as directed until finished.

Can I take Tylenol for a headache while taking Lipitor?Yes. One concern would be regarding liver enzymes and function. Have you been taking the Lipitor a long time? Does your prescribing physician take regular blood tests for liver function? Both of these drugs may affect the liver. With Tylenol, it is more dose related (over 3000mg per day) but with Lipitor, it may happen at any dose. If you must take Tylenol (aspirin would be a better choice if you can take it), take the least amount you can to stop the headache. If you have to take multiple doses of Tylenol, I would suggest call your doctor.

Can I take Flexeril and Tylenol Cold Multi-Symptom Night Time at the same time?Yes. Only take the Tylenol Night Time when you go to bed, as the diphenhydramine in this

product will cause drowsiness, added to the Flexeril will increase this side effect. Only take these when needed.

Can I take Adderall with Tylenol PM and Aleve? There are no direct drug interactions between Adderall (amphetamine salts), Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine) and Aleve (naproxen). Take the Adderall in the morning as directed by your doctor. Take the Aleve as needed with food. Tylenol PM should only be taken at bedtime as needed. Always let your health care providers know of all your medications.

Can I take Tylenol and Advil at the same time or should I alternate them? If I alternate, what does that mean? Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Advil (ibuprofen) could be taken together, but I have found that alternating is a better therapy. By alternating, I mean take the proper dose for you of each every six to eight hours. If you follow the six-hour frequency, that would be take a Tylenol dose, 3 hours later an Advil dose, then 3 hours later another Tylenol dose on and on as needed. Every eight hours would be a Tylenol dose followed by an Advil dose 4 hours later, then another Tylenol dose in 4 more hours and so on. Take the Advil with food or milk to avoid stomach upset. Limit Tylenol to 3000mg every 24 hours.

Is it safe to take Tylenol PM, while taking levothyroxine?Yes. Take levothyroxine every day before breakfast and Tylenol PM just before bedtime, as needed.

Can you take Tylenol PM with phentermine (Adipex)? Yes. Normally phentermine is taken in the morning daily and Tylenol PM is taken just before bedtime when needed. If you take Tylenol for pain/fever/headaches or multi-symptom cold medications (that usually include acetaminophen), limit daily intake of

    acetaminophen to 3000mg.

Can I take erythromycin and Tylenol Arthritis together? Yes. Take erythromycin until finished. Take with food, if it upsets your stomach. Take Tylenol as needed, but no more than 3000mg daily.

Can you take Tylenol PM with metoprolol ER?There is a drug interaction between Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine) and metoprolol ER (Toprol XL). Diphenhydramine in Tylenol PM affects the metoprolol such that there can be an increase in the plasma concentration of the beta blocker. This can cause the heart rate to fall to a very low level. Avoid antihistamines with beta blockers. If you take metoprolol in the morning and only use Tylenol PM at bedtime, 12 or more hours later, the likelihood of the interaction causing a problem is greatly reduced. The Tylenol part is not the problem, so if you are having difficulty sleeping due to pain, try taking plain Tylenol and see if this helps.

Can I take Tylenol and atenolol (Tenormin) together?Yes. Take Tylenol only as needed and limit it to 3000mg daily. Take the atenolol at the times prescribed, every day.

Is it safe to take Tylenol PM and 3mg melatonin together?Yes. There is a chance of dizziness and increase in falls, especially if you take high blood pressure medications. Be careful if you get up in the night, or before eight full hours of sleep. Take these only as needed, and avoid alcohol before bedtime.

Can I take acetaminophen for headaches if I am taking colchicine for a gout attack? There are no direct drug interactions between acetaminophen (Tylenol) and colchicine. Drink plenty of water with the colchicine and follow your physician's instruction on the proper amount and length of t ime to take this drug after an acute gout attack. Never take more than 3000mg acetaminophen per day. Those with gout, should ask your doctor for a list of foods to avoid. Certain foods may trigger gout attacks or may you more likely to experience an attack.

Can I take Tylenol Sinus Daytime with Ambien? There are no direct drug interactions between Ambien (zolpidem) and Tylenol Sinus Daytime formula. Remember to allow for 8 hours sleep before taking the Ambien. The

drowsiness may continue to the next day, so be careful if you must be alert. Drink plenty of water with the Tylenol product and limit the amount of acetaminophen to 3000mg per day.

Can you take Tylenol #3 with atenolol? There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol #3 (acetaminophen with codeine) and atenolol (Tenormin). Taking both together may slow you down somewhat. Keep track of the number of Tylenol you take any given day. Taking both Tylenol and the beta blocker may slow your heart rate lower than the doctor expects. Check your pressure often. If you notice a severe drop in blood pressure or pulse, contact the doctor.

Can I take Tylenol #3 with Aleve? There are no direct drug interactions between Tylenol #3 (acetaminophen with codeine)

and Aleve (naproxen). The codeine and Aleve can both irritate the stomach, so take with food or milk. The codeine can also cause constipation and drowsiness. Be careful if you must be alert. Take these only as needed.

Can I combine Benadryl and Tylenol?Yes, these are safe to take together. Do not give Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to children without the advice of a physician.

Can I take any antibiotics with Tylenol Cold and Sinus?Tylenol Cold and Sinus may be taken with any appropriate antibiotic.

I have a sore throat and feel a cold in my chest. My thyroid has been removed due to cancer. Can I take Tylenol Cough?

Not having a thyroid does not keep one from taking Tylenol, but with the symptoms you describe, why would you need Tylenol Cough? The sore throat could be soothed with an anesthetic throat lozenge (Cepastat) and an expectorant (such as guaifenesin) would help clear your lungs. Drink plenty of fluids, and take plain Tylenol (acetaminophen) if you have a fever or pain.

Can I take Tylenol Sinus Congestion and Pain with promethazine that contains codeine syrup?Yes. Limit the amount of acetaminophen to 3000mg per day, take both of these medications only as needed. If you have high blood pressure or heart problems, talk to

your doctor before taking the Tylenol Sinus product. Promethazine with codeine can cause drowsiness.

Can I take Ativan (lorazepam) with Tylenol PM?There are no direct drug interactions, but there is a duplication of action or indications with these drugs. Tylenol PM is to help you go to sleep, as well as relieve pain or fever. The Ativan may also be used to help you relax to fall asleep. Be very careful if you take these and must be alert. Talk with your doctor about taking these both at night.

Can I take Tylenol and Plaquenil?Yes. You may take them together. Take no more than 3000mg of Tylenol per day, and always take the Plaquenil with food at the prescribed times. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children.

Can I take Tylenol PM when I'm on warfarin?Yes. These may be taken together at bedtime. Take Tylenol PM as needed and when you can devote 8 hours for sleep. Be sure to have your blood checked regularly while on warfarin, to ensure the dosing is correct.

Can I take Tylenol #3 with Mucinex D?Yes. Take both only as needed. Limit the amount of Tylenol to 3000mg per day. Codeine can cause drowsiness, upset the stomach and cause constipation. Drink plenty of water with the Mucinex and if you have high blood pressure or heart problems, you should only take plain Mucinex.

Can I take Tylenol with diclofenac and tramadol?Yes. Limit Tylenol to no more than 3000mg per day. Take diclofenac with food or milk to

prevent stomach upset. Tramadol may cause drowsiness, so be careful if you must be alert. Always let all your health care providers know of all medications you take.

Can you take Tylenol #3 and loratadine together?Yes. Take these only as needed and remember that the codeine will possibly make you drowsy. Even though loratadine is advertised as non-drowsy, one of the main side effects is drowsiness. Be careful if you must be alert. Drink plenty of water and if the Tylenol #3 upsets the stomach, take it with food.

Can I take Lipitor and Tylenol together?Yes. If you are just beginning the Lipitor, make sure that your doctor has you get a blood test for your liver in a few weeks. Both Tylenol and Lipitor may affect your liver function. Do not take more than 3000mg of Tylenol per day. If you develop leg pains or

cramps after starting Lipitor, notify your doctor.I have a cold and cough. I am taking Robitussin Cough and Cold but I also have a headache. Can I take Tylenol?Yes. Robitussin Cough and Cold can cause blood pressure to go up.

Will it hurt to take Tylenol with Hydrochlorot? If you are referring to hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic; there are no drug interactions with Tylenol (acetaminophen). You would normally take hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) in the morning, with juice.

I take one Celebrex in the a.m. Can I take Tylenol for a headache later in the day?Yes.

Is it OK to take Tylenol PM with Mucinex D? I want to get the same effects as NyQuil without having to buy it and without having the lousy feeling the next morning. I have a cold and need to get some sleep.Yes. You can take Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine) and Mucinex D (guaifenesin with pseudoephedrine). But if you do not have pain, fever or headache, why not take plain diphenhydramine before bedtime to help sleep? Only take medications that are required (or prescribed). Don't take things you do not need.

Can I take Tylenol Cold medicine with Claritin? There are many formulations of Tylenol cold medicine. Several have antihistamines

(chlorpheniramine or diphenhydramine). Claritin (loratadine) is an antihistamine. Read the label carefully. If there is an antihistamine listed, for runny nose and itchy watery eyes, then do not take the Claritin with the Tylenol Cold. You will be duplicating the antihistamine and perhaps cause drowsiness.

Can I take Tylenol Sinus with paroxetine 20mg?There are no direct drug interactions between the many types of Tylenol (acetaminophen) Sinus and paroxetine (Paxil). Please check your box of Tylenol and read the ingredients. If there is an antihistamine (diphenhydramine) listed, this can increase the chance of drowsiness that the Paxil may also cause. Be careful if you must be alert. Drink plenty of water while taking the Tylenol Sinus and only take as long as needed.

Can I take Tylenol while on Glucophage, Glucotrol and warfarin?

There are a couple of worries with this group of medications. The Glucophage (metformin) and warfarin (Coumadin) are fine together. The problems begin with the addition of Tylenol (acetaminophen). Concurrent use of acetaminophen and warfarin may result in an increased risk of bleeding. Unfortunately, Tylenol is the safest nonprescription pain and fever drug with warfarin. Watch for unusual bruising or bleeding. Glucotrol (glipizide) and warfarin may result in an increased risk of hypoglycemia. You are most likely OK with these as you have been taking these already. Hopefully you check your blood sugar regularly and your body has adjusted to this drug combination. Discuss this with your physicians.

Can Tylenol PM and Mirapex be taken together?Yes. Drink plenty of water during the day, as both of these medications can cause dry mouth. Do not take them unless you can devote at least 6 hours for sleep.

Is there a drug interaction between acetaminophen and zolpidem? There is no direct drug interaction between acetaminophen (Tylenol) and zolpidem (Ambien). Avoid alcohol while taking these drugs, particularly if you have any liver function problems. Limit acetaminophen to 3000mg per 24 hours and only take zolpidem if needed.

I'm taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg. Can I take Tylenol Extra-Strength or Midol?Wellbutrin XL (bupropion extended release) may be taken with either Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Midol (pyrilamine with acetaminophen). I would not take the Tylenol and Midol together as both contain acetaminophen. Another alternative would be to use ibuprofen with Midol for added relief. This will be fine with the Wellbutrin also. Always limit acetaminophen to 3000mg per day and if you take NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), like ibuprofen, take them with food or milk.

I have dry cough and cold. Is it okay to take Tylenol Extra-Strength 500mg with Robitussin cough syrup cough suppressant and expectorant? You do not say why you want to take the Tylenol (acetaminophen). I assume the Tylenol is for fever or aches and pains. Robitussin DM (guaifenesin with dextromethorphan) is fine to take with Tylenol. Drink plenty of water with the Robitussin and limit yourself to no more than 3000mg Tylenol in 24 hours. Take each product only as long as needed. If you have a fever for more than 24-48 hours while on Tylenol, call your doctor.

Can Tylenol PM and benzonatate be used together?Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine) should only be taken prior to bedtime, when you have at least six to eight hours to devote for sleep. The cough suppressant

benzonatate (Tessalon) can also cause drowsiness. There are no direct drug interactions between the two. Be careful taking the benzonatate if you must be alert. Take no more than 3000mg of acetaminophen per day.

Can you take two 500mg tablets of acetaminophen with 5mg zolpidem?Yes. There are no drug interactions between Tylenol (acetaminophen) and zolpidem (Ambien). Be sure to limit yourself to no more than 3000mg of Tylenol in 24 hours and remember to be able to devote at least 7-8 hours for sleep when taking zolpidem.

Is it safe to take Tylenol Cold Severe (to alleviate cold symptoms) with Keflex?Keflex (cephalexin) is a first generation cephalosporin antibiotic that may be taken with any cough/cold/fever remedy. Tylenol Cold Severe has dextromethorphan, guaifenesin, pseudoephedrine and acetaminophen, so take this with plenty of water and only as long as needed. Take Keflex until complete.

Can I take Tylenol PM with Medrol?Yes. Medrol (methylprednisolone) and Tylenol PM (acetaminophen with diphenhydramine) may be taken together. Take Medrol in the morning with food and Tylenol PM when you go to bed.

Using Xanax (alprazolam), there is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk; if the drug is needed in a life-threatening situation or for a serious disease for which safer drugs cannot be used or are ineffective. I always recommend avoiding Xanax while pregnant.
