Optimum Health Institute, San Diego, CAA ministry that promotes healing through the uses of non-medical, all-natural, holistic practices. There are two holistic healing centers; Austin, Texas and Lemon Grove, California. Controller Sep 2015 – PresentSupervise a staff of three accountants, accounts payable, and two report writers, while leading all accounting and finance functions for five entities at three locations that include retail, services, and lodging. Produce financial statements for five separate entities, along with consolidated statements. Present financial statements at monthly board meetings and explain variances to budget and prior periods, while

providing suggestions for areas to lower costs. Monitor tuition, room, and retail revenues to maintain budgeted rates and margins. Compile operational statistics across multiple databases to assist in making operations as efficient as possible. Overhauling the daily, weekly, and monthly operating reports related to guest counts, reservations, cancellations,

calls at both locations, conversion rates of call agents, and services provided onsite. This includes working closely with managers and operators to determine specific reporting needs.

Integrating an imaging and requisition module add-on into Dynamics 2013 to make the AP workflow more efficient and to provide greater controls on the requisition process.

Highgate Hotels, Irving, TX Oct 2007 – June 2015A premier operator of roughly 60 hotel properties with over 10,000 employees. Highgate has a significant presence as an operator of full-service hotels in several major markets including Honolulu, Miami, San Francisco and Boston and is the largest operator of hotels in New York City. Controller Jan 2014 – June 2015Led all accounting and finance functions for the management company in the preparation and review of the monthly financial statements. Assisted in strategic move to bring in a capital partner to lock in a sales price for the company and to leverage the

knowledge of our partners to grow the existing business and potentially take the company public in the next 2-5 years.

Coordinated and managed the completion of the financial statement audits in order to present information to bidders during the due diligence process.

Worked directly with CFO to provide ownership with accurate and timely financial information to enable them to make informed decisions based on current information.

information on debt and equity investments and ensured information was kept strictly confidential. Spearheaded the implementation of departmentalizing expenses at the corporate level to ensure a better

understanding of income statement variances company-wide. Tested and assisted in the implementation of ImageNow, an accounts payable add-on, to smooth the AP process and

to better integrate the corporate office with the hotels. Budgeted corporate revenues and expenses netting roughly $50 million, along with assisting the budgeting process

for a group of branded hotels in NYC that shared sales personnel at the corporate level. Was entrusted with payroll information and given access to ADP General Ledger in order to ensure payroll was
