Two Methods to Calibrate YourLaptop Battery
The reason why laptop battery life reduce is beacause the BIOS make amisjudgment on battery power during during battery charge and dischargeprocedure. In this case, we can use "battery calibration" to recover the hiddenpower of the battery. Here we are to introduce the following two methods tocalibrate laptop battery.
First, standard calibration method: using battery calibration function in BIOS.
1. Boot up your computer, press F2 to enter BIOS menu after the startup screenappears. Select the Power menu by the left and right arrow keys.
2. Enter the Power menu, you can see "Start Battery Calibration" option, selectit and press Enter to execute.
3. Then the laptop screen will turn blue and a notice pop up: plug the laptoppower adapter to charge the battery. After the battery is fully charged, thescreen will prompt you to disconnect the power adapter. Then the laptopsustain to discharge the battery until the battery runs out.
4. This process will take some time, after the battery runs out and laptop shutsdown, and then connect the power adapter to charge the battery, but do notboot up your laptop. After charging is complete (charging indicator goes off),the battery calibration process is completed.
Second, manual calibration method: let the laptop battery discharge naturally.
1. Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet and connect it to your laptop untilbattery is fully charged.2. Once the battery is 100% charged click Start button, and then click ControlPanel.3. Click Power Options, and then create new power plan by clicking Create apower plan.4. Create new plan name such as Calibrate Battery, and then click Next.5. Select the Never On battery value for Turn off the display, and Put thecomputer to sleep and then click Create.(This will prevent your notebook from turning off the display and entering Sleepmode to drain battery faster.)6. Next unplug AC adapter. Then play some movies or music.7. Allow the battery to discharge completely until the laptop turns off.8. Plug in the AC adapter and restart your laptop, and charge battery fully.
