people no longer have land line phones, P.O. Boxes, or

have moved which makes it very difficult for us to con-

tact parishioners. Please fill out an informational sheet

(one per family). This is not a membership form. This is

only to update necessary information we use in the par-

ish office. If you have any questions please call the of-

fice at 879-2141.

ALL SOULS MEMORIAL MASS

On Monday, November 2, we will celebrate The

Feast of All Souls. We will again remember and cel-

ebrate all those who were honored with a Mass of

Christian burial from our church during the past year.

This is a beautiful candlelight service which for many

will be a great comfort and closure to their loss. We

would like to include this year, members of your im-

mediate family, that have also died since last Novem-

ber 2, but were not buried from our parish. Their

name will not be included on the banner that will

hang up front for the month of November, but we will

call off their name and a candle will be carried for-

ward by a family member, as we call the names of

those from our parish listed on the banner. If you

would like your loved one included in this special re-

membrance Mass, and they have passed on within

the last year, please call the rectory office and give

us the name of the person to be included on our list.

LAYER UPON LAYER

For the next few weeks Holy Trinity will have articles in

the bulletin concerning the abuses of Planned

Parenthood which are taken from a Michigan Right to

Life newsletter sent to us recently.

Planned Parenthood, under another name, was founded

by Margaret Sanger in 1916. It was her ultimate goal to

eliminate certain groups of people that she deemed to be

“human weeds,” “reckless breeders,” or “human beings

who never should have been born.”

Her scheme to eliminate the “unfit” included compulsory

sterilizations and even forcing certain groups of people to

a lifetime of farm work. She despised anyone of a reli-

gious bent, especially the Catholic Church because of

their opposition to her agenda.

This woman once wrote, “The most merciful thing that a

large family does to one of its infant members is kill it,” is

still recognized as a great American hero among the

ranks of Planned Parenthood leaders.

Today, Planned Parenthood operates more than 700

centers across the country promoting their philosophy.

More abuses will be shared through the month of Octo-

ber.

Following are opportunities where you may show your

support for life.

*This year’s cross display, to remember the unborn de-

prived of their right to life, will be erected at People’s

Baptist Church, 701 W Midland Street, Bay City. Cross-

es will be displayed through October 24.

*A Diocesan Respect Life Mass will be held Sunday, Oc-

tober 11. See page 2 for more details.

*On Tuesday, October 20, at 7:00 p.m. Bishop Cistone

will celebrate a special Mass in remembrance of babies

who have died in the womb, “Let the Little Children

Come to Me” and to pray for parents and families who

have suffered the pain of miscarriage and stillbirth. The

Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Church in Sagi-

naw. All are welcome.

*Rachel’s Vineyard weekend retreat are a beautiful op-

portunity for any person who has struggled with the emo-

tional or spiritual pain of an abortion. The retreat is a

very specific process designed to help someone experi-

ence the mercy and compassion of God. It offers many

exercises to help them grieve the loss of their unborn

child. It concludes with a Memorial Service. The retreat

and registration are strictly private. All inquiries are an-

swered confidentially. The next retreat in our area is No-

vember 13-15, 2015. For more information on any of the

diocese events, please contact Lori Becker, Respect Life

Coordinator through the diocese at 989-799-7910.

Please make sure that we pray that there will be an end

to abortion and that our elected officials will take this

theme to heart

EVERY LIFE IS WORTH LIVING

Whether it lasts for a brief moment or for a hundred

years, each of our lives is a good and perfect love.

Our relationships on earth are meant to help us and oth-

ers grow in perfect love. We are meant to depend on

one another, serve each other in humility and walk to-

gether in times of suffering.

An elderly man whose health is quickly deteriorating; an

unborn baby girl whose diagnose indicates she may not

live very long; a little boy with Down syndrome; a mother

facing terminal cancer, each may have great difficulties

and need assistance, but each of their lives is a good

and perfect life.

Experiencing suffering, or watching another suffer, is

one of the hardest human experiences. But we are not

alone. Christ experienced suffering more deeply than

we can comprehend, and our own suffering can be

meaningful when we unite it with his.

Jesus is with us every step of the way, giving us the

grace we need. God invites us to embrace the lives we

have been given, for as long as they are given. Every

life is worth living.

RESPECT LIFE
