What’s The Difference??

CRT LCD Plasma Display

First.. What are displays based on? Your brain will reassemble a

collection of small colored dots (pixels) into a meaningful image.

Your brain will reassemble a sequence of still pictures (frames) shown in rapid succession into a single, moving scene.

CRT

Cathod Ray Tube. Phosphors.

LCD

Liquid Crystal Display. What are Liquid Crystals?

LCD

Light Polarization. Liquid Crystals can be oriented using

magnetic/electric fields to control light passage.

Plasma Display

What’s Plasma? Neon and Xenon.

So… Which Is The best?

May be CRT?

Pros: The Cheapest. Best colors. More responsive. Multiple resolutions. More rugged.

Cons: High power consumption. High eye strain. Too big and heavy. Uneven light output. Poor focusing across entire

screen. Picture distorted by

magnetic field Burn Ins(screen saver)!!!!

Or, LCD?

Pros: Very power Efficient. Very thin and weigh less. Less eye strain. More adjustable. Environmentally friendly. Lives longer. High Resolutions.

Cons: Narrow viewing angle. Pixelates on low-resolutions. Can’t produce true black

(poor color saturation). Picture affected by magnetic

and electric fields. Less responsive (Ghosts and

Blurs). Fragile.

Then, is it A Plasma?

Pros: No geometric

distortion. Even light output. Less eye strain. Perfect focus. No susceptibility to

magnetic fields. Largest viewing angle. Small response time.

Cons: Very expensive. Low Brightness (not for

bright places). Lower resolutions. Pixelates on low-resolutions. Even More Burn Ins!!!!!!!!! Fragile. Dies sooner.
