1) Speeding up the process of VOR DispatchSituation and context:Due to delays in traceability of materials in our bin location(s), several VOR challans had to be transferred to other plants and warehouses. The materials received without VOR tags had to be kept in a separate identified location for quarantine purposes. The existing approach of dealing with the VOR issues had significantly reduced the throughput of the warehouse and demanded additional time and effort from the warehouse operations team.SolutionTVS Logistics engaged its in-house warehouse audit team to analyze the issue and set aggressive targets. We conducted scenario based drills on challan dispatch and formed a standardized process to resolve issues of traceability of parts and locations. A special Delivery Inspection authority was allocated for VOR challans dispatch.Results and Benefit All VOR items were successfully dispatched within six hours of release with 100% compliance to the client norms The Bin audit team was able to dispatch 2500 VOR challans every day on-time without failure The Additional time required to handle VOR challan issues reduced from an overhead of 27% to 3%
