    simultaneously.

    NotethatthisdoesnotrelatetotheinbuiltScenarioManagertoolinExcel.whichissignificantly

    lessflexiblethanaSMARTscenariomanager.

    EstablishingaScenarioManagerinExcel

    ThereareseveralcoreelementsoftheScenarioManager.

    CaseSelectorThefirstkeyelementoftheScenarioManagerisaswitchtoallowuserstochoosewhatscenariois

    currentlyactiveinthemodel. Themodelwillactivelydisplaycalculationsrelatingtotheselected

    scenario.

    CaseNamesCasesareconventionallylistedacrossfromthelefttotherighthandside. Thisallowsanyadditional

    scenariostobeestablishedbysimplyaddinganextracolumntotheScenarioManager.

    Sensitivities

    Keymodeldriversthataretobeadjustedaretobelisteddownthepage. Theseshouldbegrouped

    intocategoriestomakesearchingforsensitivityinputsmoreefficient.

    Sensitivitiescanbeestablishedusinganumberofcommonlyusedtypes:

    Selection:Sensitivitiescanbeadjustedbyuseofafixednumberorstatement(usuallypoweredbyaDataValidationlist). ThiswillfeedtheinputvaluedirectlyintotheInputs

    sheet. Thisisoftenusedforitemsthatdrivelists(e.g.Base,HighorLowcaseprofiles),as

    wellasitemsthatarenotclearonthedirectionofapositiveornegativemovement(e.g.

    foreignexchangerates).

    Scaledpercentage:Ascaledpercentagewillincreaseordecreaseanumberbyaproportionoftheinitialsize. Forexample,ifthebasenumberis500,a10%increasewillresultina

    Linear:Alinearmovementwillincreaseordecreaseanumberbythevaluelisted. Forexample,ifthebasenumberis5.00%,a10%increasewillresultinavalueof15.00%. Thisis

    morecommonlyusedfordriverssuchasinflationandinterestrates,aswellastiming

    variablesrelatingtooperationalperiodsandconstructiondelays.

    ThescenariotableisthecoreoutputoftheScenarioManager. Inthetable,weclearlyestablish

    whatthekeyoutputsofthemodelare,andutiliseaDataTabletoquicklygeneratevaluesforeach

    ofthescenariosthatwearerunning.
