Cooking with Dawn Tours, LLC has been planning culinary events and
tours for over 20 years. Owner and
Chef, Dawn Bause, and her husband
Fred are passionate about food and
have traveled extensively in search of
their next great meal. Dawn’s
culinary training began in Europe
where she lived for five years. She
and Fred were married in Venice, 23
years ago, and soon thereafter she
co-authored the Italian food and wine
book “Romance Begins in the
Kitchen.” In 2010 the State of
Michigan Public Health Department
awarded Dawn the “Hometown
Health Hero Award” for her efforts
promoting healthful food. She has
served on the board for Slow Food
Detroit and volunteers for the Chefs
to Schools Program through the U.S.
Department of Agriculture. Currently
Dawn writes monthly food articles
about the Mediterranean cuisine. She
believes the beauty of Italy is that it
ignites the senses and leaves one
feeling inspired and renewed. A place
where time produces things of value,
a place to immerse oneself into a
beautiful way of life while enjoying
life’s true pleasures: art, poetry, food,
wine and glorious landscapes.

A small privately guided tour with like minded travelers will change your idea of group travel forever! This magnificent week will take place in the picturesque Italian countryside, near Radda between Florence and Siena in the heart of Chianti in Tuscany. This region is famous for a wealth of art, history, striking landscapes and outstanding food and wine.
Your home for the week will be at the lovingly restored 12th century monestary “ Borgo San Fedele” a spectacular residence with all the comforts and furnishings of a 4 star boutique hotel. The proprietors, Nicolo and his wife Renata, and Chef Andrea will be our guides for the week sharing with us their home, friends, love, and passion for this area and all it’s offerings. We’ll be visiting a different vineyard and town each day with locals whose families have been in the region for centuries. . We will visit markets, wineries, olive oil groves, and cheese makers for tastings and private tours. We’ll be wined and dined, and treated like royalty as we immerse ourselves into what the Italian’s call “La Dolce Vita” igniting all our senses and leaving us inspired and renewed!
