WORLD NEWS

• Despite nearly being killed, she continues to promote her beliefs

• Perhaps most shocking, is that Malala does not wish her attacker any harm:

• "But then I said, ‘If you hit a Talib with a shoe, then there would be no difference between you and the Talib," she continued.

• "You must not treat others with cruelty and that harshly, you must fight others through peace and through dialogue and education. Then I said, ‘I'll tell him how important education is and that I even want education for your children, as well.

• "And I would tell him, ‘That's what I want to tell you, now do what you want.'"

AMAZING ANIMALS: Japanese Giant Hornet

• The most deadly animal in Japan – a country that also has bears – is in fact the Japanese Giant Hornet

• This awesome predator kills 40 humans every year using a gigantic dosage of stinger venom

AMAZING ANIMALS:Japanese Giant Hornet

• It can shoot flesh melting poison

• It is clever enough to aim for your eyes

• The poison has a pheromone that summons all the other hornets in the nearby area to help it attack you

• If that happens, there is a good chance you will be swarmed and stung until no longer alive

• Out running it is not an option – these hornets can fly 50 miles in a single day

AMAZING ANIMALS:Japanese Giant Hornets

• Perhaps scarier than this potentially happening to a human, is the way these hornets treat other insects

• You see, the babies of JGH’s feed on the larvae of normal honey bees – their babies

• Once they find a hive, they spray it with their pheromone to attract more hornets

• A group of 30 hornets can murder 30 thousand bees in less than 3 hours. They do so by violently cutting the bees in half – often at the head

• Afterwards, they feast on the honey, and feed the bee babies to their young

• I really wish I was making this up

AMAZING ANIMALS:Japanese Giant Hornets

• Watch the hornets in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ1eAM8CChc

• Somewhat worrying, is that the hornets are spreading across the globe:

The population of Asian giant hornets (vespa mandarinia), as they’re known, has surged largely because of climate change, says the Shaanxi Provincial Forestry Department (link in Chinese). The average winter temperature in Ankang rose 1.10 ℃ in the span of a few years alone, allowing more hornets to survive the winter. And it’s not just China; rising temperatures are behind the spread of another deadly Chinese hornets species, vespa velutina, in South Korea and Europe.

MOVIE REVIEW:MAN OF STEEL

• When I was a child, the first thing I was ever obsessed with was…Winnie the Pooh

• But the SECOND thing I was obsessed with was SUPERMAN

• Despite a million other superhero movies, there had only been one SUPERMAN movie released in my life time – and it sucked.

• Needless to say, I had high hopes for this movie
