Turning on your Computer

1- Check to see that the little green light on the

edge of your monitor (screen) is on too.

If it's not, the screen may have its own separate switch, so turn it on.

NOTE: Don't put your blank diskette in yet!

2. Wait until the Windows operating system has finished loading up –

you will see a bunch of small icons on your

screen.

You can also use Windows Explorer to make

format your floppy diskette.

Push your diskette into the little slot in the front of the machine,

gently, until it clicks into place.

Note the arrow on the diskette telling you which side slides in.

Click on the "A" drive image to select it.

Take care

Do not get it wet,

beware of Heat & Dust

Also, do not take it through the security systems in

if you do, the disk

may get demagnetized and your entire term's work will be lost!

Turning off your PC

Always turn off your PC by

1) clicking on Start,

2) clicking on Shut Down

3) waiting for message!

Never turn it off without going through these 3 steps.
