  • Geography Mountains Taurus mountains O Taurus or Toros is the name given to several ranges of mountains that are located on the edges of the Anatolian Plateau. They make up most of Turkey. O Winters are harsh in the Taurus, blizzards occur quite allot and avalanches come around also.

  • Religion O The major religion in Turkey is Islam, 99% are Muslim (majority Sunni) O Everyone in Turkey has freedom of religion and beliefs. Nobody has to join religious ceremonies against their will and no one has more rites then others because of their religion (or their beliefs) O Because of Turkeys location it is a mix of many religions beside Islam including Orthodox Christians, Protestant, Catholic and Jewish. O They have a variety of religious buildings including church's and mosques.

  • Clothing and food O Most women in Turkey wear a Burka which cover their whole body. O The headscarf, baggy trousers and colorful, sequined clothing are common items in traditional Turkish clothing as well as modern clothing. O Foods in turkey include Simit, which is a circular type of bread with sesame seeds, it is quite popular for breakfast which is one of the most important meal of the day. Usually people make breakfast with the whole family. O Hamsi is also a popular food, it is the best kind of fish in Turkey, and the people have found over 50 ways to cook it.

  • Entertainment and places to visit O Camel Wrestling: Taking place in January each year this is a highly traditional and entertaining festival where camels take each other on in the ring. And the colder the weather the more aggressive the camel and this is seen as a healthy O However, there are allot of places to see in Turkey also, one of the most famous place to go is Istanbul and visit the blue mosque.

  • The Blue Mosque O The blue mosque is famous for its amazing architecture. It is mostly known as the blue mosque because of the blue design inside. O The Blue Mosque was built between the years 1609 and 1617, with the order of the Ottoman Sultan Ahmed. O After the sultan died, he was buried just outside of the Blue mosque.
