Assalamulaikum and Salam 1Malaysia, Prof. Madya Dr Nor Azmi and
Fellow
Friends.
Today I would like to give a speech on the criteria of an ideal
teacher. In my opinion
and based on my experience as a teacher for about 14 years, an
ideal teachers are those who
uses their knowledge and experience in their teaching and uses
such techniques to enhance
their teaching approaches and benefit their student. In another
word, good teachers make use
of their experience and intuition, and their professional
wisdom, to formulate changes either
in materials at the curriculum applied or in their own teaching
and assessment methods.
Hence, such teachers without a glitch acclimatize instruction
and arbitrate in classroomsmanagement situations and therefore
frequently assess their students automatically and
naturally whenever occurs an opportunity to do so. In other word
an ideal teacher is the one
that touch the students heart that make them respect the teacher
from theirheart.
Next, an ideal teacher, is the one who being a good motivator. A
good motivator is
essential to be an ideal teacher. With the awareness that the
students come from different
backgrounds, have different personalities and so on, an ideal
teacher should know how to
give an appropriate motivation to each student. She needs to
know that different students
require different kinds of motivations as they would definitely
face different kind of
problems.
Then, I think an ideal teacher should be an idol to her / his
students. An ideal teacher
should become one who leaves a life-long impression on his/her
students and impacts their
mind in a positive way. She is a much valued asset, without whom
one can't imagine a life. In
fact, perfect teachers are as important as our parents. Not even
a single day of our life will
seem to be complete without them. They are the ones, whom the
students can idolize and
look up to. Thus, based on this, an ideal teacher should know
how to act, dress, speak, walk
or even talk correctly in front of her students, for all these
aspects are actually being observed
by them. I always hold on one principle; once a teacher, always
a teacher. Therefore, in
everything we do, teacher should do it like how a teacher is
supposed to do.

After that, an ideal teacher should have patients and sense of
humor. A teacher is
regarded as a parent who has a huge amount of patience for their
students. They will need
that patience in their every day dealings with students and
their troubles. If teachers are short
tempered, the students will create negative associations which
might lead to some kind ofreluctance to act freely and naturally
with them and would therefore make a huge barrier
between them.
Lastly, one important criterion of an ideal teacher that I
believe all teachers must have
is being loving and caring towards the children. With the fact
in mind that we are handling
children, thus we cannot run away from being loving and caring
towards them. Children need
that crucial love and care from their teacher, especially those
who do not get these at home.
Simply asking them if they are fine or simply treat them a meal
once in a while is sufficient
to portray our love and care towards the children. This would
definitely make them
appreciate us more.
In conclusion, there are many ways to be an ideal teacher. There
are also many views
of how an ideal teacher should be. However, the points above are
examples of my own
perspectives of an ideal teacher. Above all, we must bear in
mind that we work with humans
and not machines, thus being the best for them is indeed vital
and essential.
