TRUSTED – RELIABLE – DEDICATEDBSRM steel will now build the country's first Nuclear Power Plant in Rooppur. BSRM has signed a landmark agreement with Russian Nuclear agency Trest RosSEM to work on the new Rooppur Power Plant that will produce 2400MW of electricity.

A contract for supply of steel to Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Project was signed between BSRM and Trest RosSEM at Pabna. Mr. Shobhon Shahabuddin (Raj), Head of National Sales, BSRM and Mr. Oleinik Aleksandr, Director of the branch, Trest RosSEM signed the contract on behalf of their respective companies. The new Rooppur Power Plant will produce 2400MW of electricity. A nation’s future will be safe and resilient with sufficient power supply. Mr. Mohammad Imtiaz Uddin Chowdhury, Head of Supply Chain, BSRM was invited by Mr. Toru Suzuki, President of the Japan Iron & Steel Recycling Institute, to the JISRI’s 7th International Ferrous Recycling Forum, hosted by JISRI, on the 17th of June, 2017. The event was held at the Tokyo International Exchange Center in Japan with more than 250 people attending the seminar. Mr. Chowdhury attended the conference representing India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He presented the current status of the steel industry along with the demand and supply situation of steel scrap in West Asia. Renowned alliances, The China Association of Metal Scrap Utilization and Korea Iron & Steel Association also participated in the seminar.

BSRM Corporate HR participated in NIT Job Fair - 2017, held at Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View on 12th August, 2017. Renowned organizations, High Officials’ of Government of Bangladesh and World Bank also took part in this fair. BSRM received a good response from this event.

nervous, stressed, angry, or upset. To minimize these negative emotions, reframe how you’re thinking

about the conversation: You’re not saying no to your boss; you’re offering up an alternative solution.

You’re not giving someone negative feedback; you’re starting a constructive conversation about their

development. This isn’t sugarcoating. Be honest with yourself about how hard the conversation might

be, but frame it as constructively as possible. You might tell yourself: We may have to talk about difficult

things, but we’ll work through them together because we’ve always respected each other. And focus

on what you stand to gain from the conversation - assume you have something to learn. By entering

the discussion with an open mind, regardless of your coworker’s stance, you’re more likely to find

common ground.

BSRM Corporate HR arranged In-House and Outbound training for employees across the group.

A two day long outbound training session titled "Journey to the next level" was held at Motel Shaikat, Chittagong on 29th & 30th April 2017. Mr. Ejazur Rahman, Managing Director, Mind Mapper Bangladesh, conducted the training session.

A three day long outbound training session titled "Microsoft Project 2013" was held at BSRM Steel Mills Limited from the 18th to 20th April 2017. Mr. Gaurav Kumar Chawla from India conducted the training session.

To enhance knowledge of all sales employees on BSRM Products, a series of day-long training sessions titled ''Product Knowledge" started from 4th July 2017. Mr. M. Firoze, Head of Marketing & Product Development, BSRM, conducted the training sessions.

A three day long outbound training session titled "Financial Management for Non-Financial Executives" was held at BSRM Corporate Office on 31st July, 2nd and 5th August 2017. The event was jointly organized by BSRM and Chittagong Independent University (CIU). Dr. Emon Kalyan Chowdhury, Dr. Manzur Quader and Dr. Mohammad Nayeem Abdullah from CIU, conducted the training sessions.

In order to cherish latent imagination of tender minds, Corporate HR organized Employee Children Art Competition 2017, which was held on 22nd May at Burhani BSRM School. Mrs. Sabeen Aameir, Director, BSRM Group inaugurated the ceremony. Honorable Chairman, BSRM Group, Mr. Alihussain Akberali was the Chief Guest. The winners were recognized and awarded with prizes and certificates. Department Heads from various Functions were also present to encourage the participants.

Aiming to be on the same page!Aiming to work together on the same platform, BSRM has created a new mileage by providing countrywide training for partners. Marketing and Sales are jointly working together for ‘Product Knowledge and Service’ training. The partners were enthusiastic, interactive and thanked BSRM for arranging such a program. Under Private – Public – Non Public partnership, BSRM group CSR desk has provided an ambulance to the Mayor of Rangamati to be operated by NGO “Agrajattra” on Aug 10, 2017. An endeavor to provide health care at fair price for the under privileged, launched as a pilot project with opening an office in Rangamati.

BSRM Group has partnered with Handicap International in Bangladesh (HI). Under this project HI helps build the institutional capacity of the Management Committee Members of Self Help Group (SHG) through fund management trainings and follow up supports. Linking each SHG with Disabled People Organizations (DPO), train, teach and council, assist in developing skills to support 1,200 households beneficiary encompassing 5,044 family members was done under this project.
