Trumpington Meadows Country Park and Nature Reserve
1955: Plant Breeding Institute
2004: Grosvenor and USS
2015: The Wildlife Trust BCN
The Wildlife Trust manage the reserve for wildlife:
• Low intensity grazing of the southern meadows
• Hay cutting the northern meadows later in the summer
• Pollarding willows over winter
• Removing unwanted scrub
• Managing hedges
We run a varied community
engagement programme from
the reserve.
• Regular guided walks – our
Monthly Meanders
• Seasonal events throughout
the year – bat walks, insect
days, children’s activities
• An annual Discovery Day
We couldn’t do the work we do for wildlife without our volunteers.
• Conservation volunteers meet every 2 weeks on a Wednesday.
• Walking wardens
• Event assistants – walk leaders, Watch group leaders
Thanks to funding from Veolia,
you can discover a range of
sculptures, benches and
interpretation on site.
Try and find our four carved
animal sculptures, relax in our
Rainbow Reflection Garden
and learn about the history and
wildlife of the reserve from
welcome panels.
