Arena action included a monster truck showdown between heavyweights Lightning and Podzilla, wheelie fire truck Backdraft, plus the UK’s top freestyle motocross stunt rider Jamie Squibb performing unbelievable motorcycle tricks. Local recovery operators demonstrated their capabilities in a crash rescue demonstration, co-ordinated by Enfield Recovery and Rogers Rescue. Daring visitors were able to ride in the new Red Dragon 10-seated monster truck operated by Welsh owner Rob Williams. Even Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas turned up to join in the fun, meeting fans and signing autographs for show sponsors TruckInsure. Oswestry Showground is located close to theWelsh border, and attracts visitors from Wales and the West Midlands.The outstanding line-up of trucks included notable local fleets Pentons Haulage (celebrating its 35th anniversary), Welshpool operators T Alun Jones, North Shropshire Transport, S Owen & Sons, plus Wynnstay Group. An array of truck dealers were on display, with Scania, Renault, DAF, Iveco, Volvo and Hino represented.There were also plenty of other trade stands and attractions to amuse visitors of all ages.
