GETTING STARTED
What is a PLC?
PLC ; Programmable Logic Controller
*PLC’s are in the computer family. *PLC’s are used in commercial and industrial applications.
*PLC’s act as controllers for machines and processes. *They monitor inputs, make decisions, and control outputs
in order to automate machines and processes.
A PLC is built similarly to a computer. It has:
#A power supply unit. #Relay units for inputs and outputs.
#A central unit with a programmable microprocessor. #Internal memory.
The controlling process is supervised by a program stored in the memory of the device.
Basic PLC Operation The primary parts of a PLC are the inputs modules, the CPU, and the outputs modules :
What is “Siemens LOGO? ”!
It is a very simple PLC.Programming the LOGO:
Programming the LOGO is carried out using a graphical programming language.
To produce a program and upload it onto the LOGO, we use a software
running on a PC : LOGO! Soft Comfort.

RELAYHow does a Relay work?
It is as an Electromagnetic switch . It contains a coil & a switch placed inside a casing. The switch is controlled by the coil. When a current flows the coil, the coil behaves like a magnet, & change the state of the switch.
NOTICE:It`s switch as (Power Circuit )It`s coil as (Control Circuit)
Example3:Bell, Relay & 2 variable currents.
