Food is more than production....it is what sustains all of us.

We would like to invite you to share the benefits of our winter garden with us. Families purchase a share from the organic farm for this fall and winter 2009/ 2010. Our Triple Cord CSA is a group of Amish Organic Farmers who agree to produce food for a predetermined group of customers. The delivery day has been set for every Thursday between 4 pm and 6 pm, until April 29th, 2010.The families who grow this amazing organic produce are Old Order Amish, and live in Aylmer Ontario. They are willing to travel here to London for us to be able to enjoy their fresh local produce at our door all fall and winter. They will be arriving here every Thursday and setting up their tables in our garage at 42 Southview Place, London   N6J 1S2. Should there be a snow day, we will make the pick-up on the Saturday that week.http://maps.google.ca/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=112014235763452203532.000467db47719201e4914&ll=42.96217,-81.281638&spn=0.001354,0.002403&t=h&z=19It works out that everyone is assigned a box, and can take what ever quota that the farmer has figured out for us for that week, depending upon yield. There may be some imported goods coming our way as well, all Organic of course. Produce such as bananas may be something he can add occasionally to our boxes. On the other hand if someone does not like a particular vegetable or fruit that is brought in, they can opt not to take it, and therefore allowing someone else to take more than their allotment. Occasionally, someone may want more of a particular item. They can speak with the farmer, and should he have a surplus, bring it with him on the next visit, for example if someone is making pickles or jam and wants a quantity. If you do take your full allowance every week, you can put produce away in the freezer for future use in soups, stews, sauces, jams etc. for future months. We also are providing flour, meat and eggs. There is an extra charge for these items. The program offers enough fresh produce for a family of 2 adults and 2 small children for two weeks at a time. If you feel that this is too much food for you, you might consider finding someone with whom to split your share price and produce, or purchase a medium share.Eggs can be delivered, at an extra charge, at $3.00 per dozen. These must be ordered one week in advance.
