Lessons Learned• Involve internal stakeholders to help articulate the mission and
support the housing program goals.• Housing strategy should be based on articulated mission, student
data, and available resources.• Understand preferences for unit size, location, and cost, etc. to match
your product with your population. • Use focus groups to supplement survey data. • Build flexibility into design so you can respond to changes in
preferences over time. • The timing of development will be influenced by factors such as
public approvals and funding strategies.• Re-survey students as market conditions and other priorities change. • Evaluate the implemented program and program assumptions as
needed.
