Measures and Dimensions panelAn interactive component in the Visualize room that
allows searching for all available measures and
dimensions. When you drag and drop values from this
panel to the Visualization Tools panel, the results are
displayed on the Chart Canvas.
Chart BuilderThe panel used to change the chart type and customize
the chart.
dimensionA data object that represents categorical data in a
dataset. For example, Products or Sales.
Chart CanvasThe area used to create, modify, or explore a visualization
measureA data object that represents quantitative data in a
dataset. For example, sales revenue, salary, or number of
employees.
visualizationA visual representation of your data. For example, data
displayed in a bar chart, line chart, or treemap.
trellisA grid layout of charts that use the same scale and
format to allow side-by-side comparison.
For example, if you create a bar chart that contains
revenue by region, and then add the Country dimension
to the trellis, multiple small charts will be displayed, with
each chart showing the revenue by region for one
country.
stack modeThe view that displays data points as related stacks,
building on previous data point. In a stacked bar chart,
each data point starts from the previous data point.
For example, a story containing sports team data would
show one bar for each team. Each bar would be made up
of colored segments to show each player’s salary, and the
total height would equal that team’s total salary.
inuence analysisA feature used to look at a specic measure in your data
to determine which dimensions impact that measure the
most. Related visualizations can be viewed based on the
analysis.

Geo MapA visualization where charts overlay a geographical
image of the earth.
Geo Mapping your data requires you to turn on the ESRI
mapping services and apply for an account, then enter
the credentials in File > Preferences > Geo Map Service
The view that displays each data point in isolation used
to compare individual values. Each data point starts from
zero on an absolute scale. For example, a story
containing sports team data can compare individual
players by their points and assists.
comparison modeThe page used to work with data contained in a dataset.
Graphical descriptions of data with charts and tables can
be added from the palette of chart families. Charts can
be used to plot meaningful relationships and to show
data trends.
Visualize roomstoryA collection of visualizations, text, and images that
describes your data.
The page used to create and explore stories.
Compose roomFacets viewThe view that displays a summary of a dataset by listing
the unique values for each dimension. For example, a
dataset with a Country dimension that contains multiple
instances of the values United States, Canada, and
Mexico, will displays those values and the number of
occurences.
facetAn attribute or characteristic of a dataset. For example,
measures, dimensions, calculations, and hierarchies are
facets of a dataset.
enrichmentThe process of organizing a dataset into measures and
hierarchies during data acquisition. For example, if the
source data contains years and months, the enrichment
process might create a Date hierarchy.
Prepare roomThe page used to view, organize, and manipulate tabular
data.
The center Data pane displays the data in Grid or in
Facets view. The Measures and Dimensions panel lists
columns that belong to each group, and is used to create
time and geography hierarchies. The Manipulation Tools
panel is used to edit or add column data.
LaunchpadA page that lists all available stories and datasets.
datasetThe data used to create charts. A dataset can also contain
semantic enhancements or enrichments. For example, a
dataset can contain time and geography hierarchies,
measures, formulas, and calculations.
data sourceThe source from where data is imported to create a
dataset. The data in a data source is not altered in any
way; only the imported dataset is manipulated.

Data Access ExtensionA plugin module created by SAP or other developers that
allows users to access an additional data source.
For example, the SAP Universe Query Panel is a data
access extension that SAP Lumira users can install using
the Extension manager.
