SOUTH WEST
ENGLAND
TREFARI 20
DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOUR TREFOIL SIGN!! (Just a piece of A4 card will do - )
If you enjoy making crafty
things… why not produce some
TREFARI 20 swap pins…. animal
theme?
These are just some of the lovely
things Train Trek folk brought to
swap last October!
There will be a time and location
at each zoo/park when you can
come along and swap!!
May 2019 Edition 1
(CHAIRS, PLEASE READ PAGES 1, 3 and 9 TO YOUR MEMBERS)
INTRODUCTION
South West England Trefoil Guild invite you to meet up at one or more of
five wildlife parks or zoos - because we are all GOING WILD in 2020!
It’s not about whether you’ve been to that place before…. rather it’s about
a venue being BIG ENOUGH to provide us with a safe meeting space so we
can get together again - and GET NOTICED by the general public!
After the Trefoil Train Trek lots of people said they’d enjoyed the chance
to gather… and have fun! So let’s do it again!
It won’t be as complicated …. but you will need to organise your travel to
get there! Coaches and mini-buses are welcome at all venues.
There isn’t a venue in each county this time - but maybe the next time we
have a region ’Get Noticed’ event we could focus on the islands and other
far-flung areas? REMEMBER, you are welcome to come to ANY or ALL of
the... Go Wild Trefoil Safari Days - our ‘TREFARI 20’
ON THE DAYS
When you arrive you will be given a commemorative wristband; your
official ticket for entry (in some venues); plus a special Trefoil programme
for the day. For example: watch the penguins being fed at 10.30am; come
and take a selfie with Val, our Chair, or Chris, our President, at 11.15am.
There will be various ‘happenings’ around the zoo/park like this, at given
times and locations.
BOOKING
Please can guilds book in together with one cheque (or bank transfer—
contact Jane!) - so Jane, our treasurer, doesn’t drown in cheques again!
WE ARE ASKING FOR THE MONEY VERY EARLY - SO WE CAN PAY THIS
YEAR’S PRICES - NOT 2020’s! IF YOU LET US KNOW BY MAY 1ST 2020
THAT YOU CANNOT COME - WE WILL REFUND YOUR MONEY - minus £2.

of friendship pins and would like to meet up with likeminded folk, get yourself to the right
time and place …. and see what others have been making!
WHEN FILLING IN YOUR GUILD FORM
It would be really helpful if, on the back of the form, you stated whether you’ve decided
to bring picnics or whether you plan to eat in the restaurant/cafe at the zoo/park. The
venue would find it really useful to have a heads up of how busy they are going to be at
lunchtime! We will warn them that most people will want tea/coffee .. and maybe a cake?
at some point during the day!
AND (Longleat only)... if you have any members who wouldn't be able to go upstairs in the
Safari Park bus, please write that on the back of the form too - we aim to have Trefoil
helpers to assist people getting up and down the bus stairs.
WHAT TO WEAR..
Have you noticed there is a LOT of animal print clothes in the shops at the moment? Do
you have any in your wardrobe? Maybe, if you have something vaguely zoo-ish you could
wear it with your Trefoil scarf or necker? Failing that, don’t forget to wear a Trefoil
badge… we need to get the message over that WE ARE THE TREFOIL AND WE HAVE FUN!
