To provide a in-depth look at the

world of the Dhol and the affect

on the music industry.

To explore this instrument in

detail, for example different

genders that are interested or

even play the Dhol.

My angle of this documentary is

looking into the Dhol and how some

peoples interests grew for the

instrument.

To look at how the instrument is used

around the world, for example

religious events and wedding parties.

The topic of my documentary is

focusing on the Dhol and how it has

changed music and how the Dhol is

used at religious functions.

The USP (unique selling point ) of my

documentary is that there are not many in fact

there are no documentaries about the Dhol, and

my documentary will show live performances

and expert interviews which will entertain the

audience. Also the different sign in introduction .

The key arguments or

debates that will be in my

documentary will be why the

Dhol is not used as much in

some religious functions?.

can get my vox pops on the question whatis that ³Dhol´ to you? (Southall Broadway)

Segment 3: The third segment is ainterview with a music producer ManniSandhu who had worked in the studiomaking music with the Dhol and whocan give us advice on the Dhol.

EXPLANATION OF RESEARCH &

KEY FINDINGS

set out to find what my audience knew about the idea already and also to get feedback on myidea.

The focus group was examining on the audience that was because my focus group focused on

the what the audience like and dislike about a documentary. That was useful because from my audience feedback I know what would appeal to the audience.

Also using the same target audience that would appeal would be a good idea because then you have an idea of

what prefer in a documentary.

The feedback which I good back from the focus group was qualitative data, that was because there was no

numbers in my feedback it was only information which I got back from my audience like written and no statistical

information.

The focus group research was primary research because it was done myself not from another source like the

internet, if it was done using information or facts from the internet or books it would be secondary research.

The three findings which I have found from this research are things like what the audience would like to see in a

documentary, and also what would appeal to them. I have also found out that my audience would like to watch adocumentary about the ³Dhol´ because it would be different than other documentaries.

How this research has advanced the development of my idea?:

This has given a clear idea of what appeals to my targeted audience.

What makes a good documentary.

My Budget for my documentary:The Budget for my documentary would include very important expenses such MacFor editing my for once the filming has been done and also the software which I will be doing theEditing. The other cost would be the expenses of the hall if I was to hire out a hall for filming, that would depend on if the hall

requires a fee to film.In what way would your documentary provide good value for money? The ways that my documentary will provide a good value for money will be by drawing the audience in by making my documentaryvery different from other documentaries, for example my documentary will include live performances from some Dhol players whichwill entertain the audience.

The documentary will also educate the audience by giving information of how the Dhol is made and when it was first founded. In mydocumentary this will be told by a expert interview.

The documentary will inform the audience by telling them where they can go if they want some training for the Dhol, for example the

expert will say that there are classes available that people of all ages can go to for advice and training on this Indian instrument.
