Technology
The technology of Treasures includes helpful tools that support instruction, address student needs, and help teachers effi ciently manage classroom time.
The student technology resources engage students and address the key aspects of learning to read: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Writing, and English Language Development. Each technology program or component was designed to be easy for students to use in whole-group or small-group instruction. Students can interact with games such as the new Adventures with Buggles and Beezy and the Vocabulary Puzzlemaker.

For students who need audio support, the student reading selections are available in the Listening Library and the Leveled Readers Audio CDs for Approaching, On Level, Beyond Level, and English Language Learners. There is also a Student Navigator: Interactive Student Book which contains an electronic version of the student book and offers audio support for the core selections. This piece maybe used in school or at home. Teachers will also fi nd an Intervention Anthology Listening Library.
The Fluency Solutions CDs provide students with opportunities to develop fl uency. They can read silently as an “expert” models fl uent reading and then read the fl uency passages aloud with the expert.
Teachers will fi nd the Interactive Lesson Planner a helpful tool for organizing plans and for accessing a variety of teaching materials and state standards information. For teachers interested in assessment, the Progress Reporter Online and the Progress Reporter CD-ROM are available. These tools allow students to take the Weekly, Unit, and Benchmark tests on the computer. These tests are then scored automatically, and diagnostic reports are generated. Teachers may use these electronic programs to create and score additional tests. There is also a Weekly Selection Test CD.
The fully-integrated technology resources of the Treasures program save time for the teachers and students. These tools create a more interesting and productive learning environment and broaden the scope of Treasures to create a more effi cient and comprehensive program.
