Work: • If you work in Bristol or Downend, there is a direct bus from the Science Park

or Lyde Green Village. Buses run approximately every 30 minutes throughout the day Monday to Saturday.

• Your nearest train station is Bristol Parkway; it would take around 30 minutes to cycle to the station. There is also a bus service from Lyde Green to Bristol Parkway.

• There are probably other people who live nearby going the same way. Have you thought about car sharing? Visit www.travelwest.info/carshare for help with finding a car share partner.

• Working from home is a great way to avoid travelling to work at all.

Health:• From the 23rd August 2015 a new bus service will run from Lyde Green to

Southmead Hospital.

• Your local Doctor’s surgery, Dentist and Options is located at Emersons Green (near the retail centre). It’s a 10 minute walk or 6 minute cycle.

Education:• 2 x Primary schools and a Secondary school are planned for Lyde Green Village.

• A crèche will be located next to the Community Hall, construction will start during phase 2.

Shopping:• Emersons Green is full of well-known brands such as Sainsbury’s, Boots,

Sports Direct, Argos and Costa Coffee. These shops are within 10 minutes’ walk of Lyde Green Village.

• Downend is a short bus ride from Lyde Green; it offers small shops, café’s, restaurants and pubs.

• Bristol City Centre is only 8 miles away, this is accessible by bus.

Leisure:• Emersons Green has a play park located within 10 minutes’ walk. The park

has 2 separate gated sections for toddlers and older children. Nearby you can also find a skate park.

• There is a village hall and library service at Emersons Green, pop in and find out about activities and community events.

• Lyde Green links directly to Europe’s most used cycle path, providing cycle and pedestrian access to Bristol and Bath via Keynsham and Saltford.

• For information on leisure walks, for people of all ages and abilities www.southglos.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/staying-healthy/getting-active/walking-for-health

• Aspects Leisure Park offers a great variety of activities on your doorstep including bowling, cinema, fitness gym and restaurants. Longwell Green Leisure Centre has a swimming pool, gym and a series of activities.
