This aluminium compact compressor series pres-ents major benefits such as low weight, high efficiency, compactdesign, and the recognized BITZER reliability. These compres-sors are best suitable for applications in bus air conditioning.The 4UFR(Y) .. 4NFR(Y) are their derivative for truck and trailerrefrigeration applications.

Hermetic screw compressors (VSK)The hermetic VSK compressors are tailored to the specialrequirements of railway and trolley bus air conditioning. Two ofthe main advantages are the low installation height due to thehorizontal design and a large speed control range resulting froma frequency inverter drive.

Hermetic scroll compressors(ESH/ELH/ELA)Used primarily in rail and bus air conditioning applications, scrollcompressors in vertical and horizontal version complement therelated screw compressor portfolio. Their outstanding feature isthe patented suction gas cooling which creates a thermal equi-librium between the orbiting and fixed spiral. Its high efficiencyand low noise emission set new industry standards.

Semi-hermetic aluminium scrolls (ECH)BITZER offers a new generation of aluminium semi-hermeticscroll compressors with EC motor technology leading to anunmatched energy efficiency and quietness in operation. Due toits compact and light design, its stepless capacity control, andfrequency control which operates independently from the vehicleengine drive, this compressor is well suited for air conditioningapplications in bus as well as driver’s cab cooling in industrialand farm applications, and recreation vehicle air conditioning.

Semi-hermetic screw compressors(HSK/HSN)For more than 25 years, BITZER has been producing small andmedium capacity semi-hermetic screw compressors. The highpower density and the external oil separator concept make itpossible to achieve simple paralleling ranging from larger com-mercial applications to marine systems for provisions cooling.The result is a high degree of reliability and efficiency, even in theplant’s partial load range.

Semi-hermetic compact screws (CSH and CSW)Compact screws are equipped with an integrated oil separatorand a four-step or continuously variable slide capacity control.Thanks to this feature, the compressor is easy to integrate inshort circuits, such as water or brine chillers. The economizer isintegrated in the slide control and thus can be operated effec-tively during full as well as partial load. The compact design andintegrated oil system allows the application on board of cruiseliners.

Open drive screw compressors (OSK/OSN)The open drive screw compressors were developed for use withcoupling and coupling housing to directly flange on electricmotors. In combination with the particularly reliable shaft seal,assembling an open drive compressor is conceivably easy.A special version of the OS series is also available for use withNH3 or in explosion proof zones. Like the HS series the simpleparalleling allows for higher capacities and more efficient partload operation. Due to the external oil separator concept,onboard installations can be realized easily.

Semi-hermetic reciprocating compressorsBITZER owes a significant amount of its success to the wellknown Octagon® series and ".2 Generation" reciprocating com-pressors. These compressors are very efficient, sturdy, reliable,quiet and have low vibration which makes them an ideal matchfor many applications like heat pump, air conditioning, andrefrigeration – ranging from medium to low temperatures –requiring small and medium capacities. In addition, the moderndesign meets the specific requirements of all current refrigerants.

Open drive reciprocating compressorsThe ".2 Generation" of open drive compressors are frequentlyused to meet special requirements, for instance in marine appli-cations, and onboard refrigerators. They are equipped with aparticularly reliable shaft seal and can be operated either withdirectly flanged-on motors or by means of V-belts.The low speed compressors 0..VII complete the open compres-sor series for smaller capacities.
