We identified our achievements

Carried out monitoring of political party financing during the 2006 general elections in Uganda. Lessons learnt from this intervention have informed the partnership and design of a joint election monitoring programme

In July 2008 Transparency International Uganda commenced implementation of its flagship health programme, Transparency and Integrity in Service Delivery in Africa (TISDA) that aimed at improving the quality of life of Ugandans through better governance in the health sector

In the education sector, Transparency International Uganda implemented the Africa Education Watch. TIU completed studies on corruption in the primary education sub sector. The results were used to design and implement advocacy activities to improve governance in the sub sector.

With funding from Partnership for Transparency Fund (PTF), Transparency International Uganda successfully implemented a one year (September 2008-December 2009) community empowerment programme to address corruption in Rakai District, Central Uganda

• The Danida Human Rights and Good Governance Programme (HUGGO) facilitated TIU’s institutional strengthening initiatives. Among others, TIU designed a website, trained staff, developed a new strategic plan and maintained key functions of the office running. HUGGO funding was vital in attracting addition funds for TIU programmes.
