e.g. the translator has to define the deadline and the price of his work.

e.g. when the translator is stuck in the middle of the text because of the cultural items he should know the differences between the cultures of S language and T language.

How does the translator market his services?

deciding what sort of work he is looking for. (e.g. freelancer or with agency or company )

writing a strong resume or SV that focuses on his achievements as a translator because a main mirror of his expertise and experience is his CV.

making his own website or blog where he can present himself as a translator.

“about me “ section in his profile gives him an opportunity to write as much about himself.

joining associations, groups, networks in his fields of expertise.

using his personal contacts to advertise his services, and use his friends and family as a marketing network.

marketing himself locally, by using traditional means (newspapers, mailings).

Finally, translator’s attitude toward his work will make client appeals again to his services. He have to respect the client and he will be respected and clients will appreciate his efforts and good work.
