Transition Project Stakeholder engagement survey

results

As part of the Transition Project, Tweed Sand Bypassing (TSB) sought input from the community on a range of matters relating to beach usage and the Tweed River entrance. Stakeholder engagement activities were undertaken between December 2019 and February 2020 by Nation Partners and consisted of:

an online survey (open between 17 December 2019 to 15 February 2020), community interviews (face to face) which were facilitated through interviewers at key locations

(between 19 December 2019 and 17 February 2020) at Rainbow Bay, Snapper Rocks, Duranbah, Kennedy Drive Boat Ramp, Fingal Boat Ramp and Fingal.

specific interviews with coastal experts, advisory committee members, past and present staff. The public stakeholder engagement activities were advertised:

on the TSB website, via a media release from the NSW state member, through an article in the Tweed Daily News, in the Gold Coast Bulletin, Tweed Daily News and the Tweed Link, via social media (Instagram posts), and via distribution of paper flyers.

The raw results of the online survey and face to face interviews are included in the following pages. The TSB team will be using these results to assist in future planning.
