1
Paving the way for career growth
1
As a business leader, you are constantly called upon to adapt, evolve and contribute in order to stay relevant. Our Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) is a two-year programme that is designed for high performers like you. The programme’s innovative design and thoughtfully planned schedule ensures that you continue to work even as you enhance your managerial qualifications. It gives you in-depth learning in key areas such as Marketing, Finance, Organizational Behavior, Operations, Strategy and International Business. So go ahead, be more and do more with the PGPEM
at IIM Bangalore.
IIMB is one of the best management schools in the world. Our programmes are highly placed in prestigious global rankings. Our faculty are globally feted. We are EQUIS accredited.

Pursue a premier general management programme while you work
2
Why IIMB?IIMB’s intellectually stimulating environment and world-class faculty give the programme a definite edge. The iconic campus and the opportunity to interact with a diverse community, from India and abroad, will make your time with us memorable.
We have designed the PGPEM using participant-centric methods, where you are encouraged to question the status quo. This helps you rediscover your capabilities and offers you new insights into challenges at your workplace as it integrates corporate experience with classroom learning.
Message from the DirectorThe PGPEM participants have a special challenge – that of managing their work, family and education; all three in a seamless fashion, which in itself is a great learning for life. They also get to have their workplace as a live laboratory, where week on week they can reflect on and implement on a real time basis their learnings from the class. The challenges they face in the workplace can also be a feeder to the learning and problem solving that they can do, together with faculty and competent peers, in the classroom. Thus, the PGPEM provides a unique opportunity for working executives who are looking at fast forwarding their competencies from one of the best business schools in the world.

Message from the Chairperson The PGPEM offers a holistic understanding of management so that participants can shift focus from their silo functions to a synergistic, organization-wide perspective. The PGPEM is unique as it combines the rigor of a full-time programme with the opportunity for participants to apply their classroom learning, in real time, at their workplace.
The PGPEM also offers international exposure as participants can go on exchange programmes to premier partner universities worldwide. It attracts participants from finance, consulting, technology, and manufacturing, thus enables divergent perspectives to thrive in the classroom. It has also always been a magnet for professionals who want to learn and excel. I enjoy teaching and learning from them.
Prof. seema gupta
Structure The PGPEM has four terms of three months each in an academic year. The programme is designed in such a way that, in the first year, you need not miss work, except on two Fridays in a term. In the second year, the elective courses are scheduled on Friday afternoons (2.30 pm to 7.30 pm) and Saturday. If you have a flexible work schedule, you could even choose electives scheduled on weekdays.
Courses and CreditsCredits are used to define the weightage of a course – core or elective. Core courses are part of the first year while electives are offered in the second. Each course typically has three credits. A three-credit course involves about 100 hours of work – 30% in the classroom and the rest spent on preparation and assignments.
The pedagogy includes classroom lectures, collaborative discussions, online (broadcast) sessions, analysis of cases, individual and group projects, role play, live projects and business games.
Live ProjectsThe three-credit project course is an essential part of the programme that offers you the opportunity to specialize in an area where a formal elective may not be offered.
Clustered WeekendsIn every term in the first year of the programme, there are two long on-campus weekends where you are offered the opportunity of campus stay. During the dedicated ‘collaboration hours’, you are encouraged to participate in team activities and projects. You also get to participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. The first year also has four online (broadcast) sessions per term, scheduled on Friday evenings, and you can sign in from your respective locations.

“We are privileged to be in Bengaluru, the growth hub of the Indian economy. The PGPEM offers us the unique opportunity to educate participants drawn from a truly talented pool.”
Prof. B. Mahadevan
“I find the PGPEM students to have diversified interests in terms of the skills and concepts that they want to learn. More importantly, if properly facilitated they are able to bring some interesting aspects from their workplace into the classroom discussion, which invariably add richness to the discussions. Teaching PGPEM is always a pleasure for me as I deal with students who bring maturity and seriousness with them.”
Prof. A. Damodaran
“An enthusiastic group of experienced executives who travel miles to reach our campus on weekends and yet show no signs of weariness in the classroom. The PGPEM participants have an unusual ability to gel as a group and work on interesting themes with quality results as I could discover from my association with them. The interesting work they do at IIMB, I am told, has yielded them dividends in their workplace. I have always enjoyed teaching and interacting with them.”
Prof. Abhoy K. Ojha
“The PGPEM is unique. It is focused on enhancing the management expertise of highly experienced and mature professionals who want to continue with their work engagements simultaneously. Participants learn in the classroom, and also learn by sharing their own experiences – the opportunity to stay on campus enhances the opportunities of peer-to-peer learning. Even as they learn from me, I learn so much from them about the industry happenings and trends during my interactions, which is a fulfilling experience for me as a faculty member. Having been associated with the PGPEM for long, and being aware of the success of the alumni of this programme, I wholeheartedly recommend it for any mid-career professional who aspires to join the top management ranks.”

“Exposure to Indian cases, cutting-edge research and insightful lectures make learning at IIMB a valuable and memorable experience. Teaching Consumer Behavior to a diverse set of top-notch PGPEM executives and challenging them to achieve the learning objectives in the subject is always a rejuvenating experience for me.”
Prof. Rejie George Pallathitta
“I find the PGPEM students to be always motivated and well-prepared despite having to manage pressing work commitments during the week. The observations of the class are also extremely perceptive. Teaching the class has been a unique learning experience for me as an instructor. A remarkable feature that encapsulates the continuing enthusiasm of the students is the engagement of the class on the issues raised during the sessions long after the session is over.”
