PRINCIPLE 1: DREAM = VISION
Your vision must be shared to get
buy-in
Here’s where you develop a sense
of urgency
You need to know your “why” or
purpose behind your vision or the purpose
that drives your vision
Your vision is what you see for your
school in the coming years
TWO CREATIVE VISION-CASTING ACTIVITIES:
1. Imagine your school is being recognized nationally for its accomplishments in the next 5 years. Fast forward and invite your staff to write the newspaper article that features your school. What will they include?
2. Imagine your school is being shut down and at the final closing ceremonies or funeral; the school’s obituary is being read aloud. Write the obituary. Include all that made the school special & successful
