We are in the early weeks of the Jubilee Year of Mercy called by the Holy Father. The Jubilee Year will last until November 28th next year. Pope Francis has described this year as a “favorable time to heal wounds.” At the same time, we have begun “On Mission for the Church Alive!” The goal of “On Mission” is to help our parishes become even more vibrant communities of service. What social outreach to the community can our parish do that it is not doing now? To read more, check out “On Mission for the Church Alive!” on page five of this week’s Pittsburgh Catho-lic or visit www.OnMissionChurchAlive.org.

Congratulations to Anne Marie Catanese on winning the Lionel Train. Thank you once again to "Choo Choo Marty" for the donation of the train to use as a raffle item for the parish!

Our four weeks of Advent preparations are al-most at an end. In just a few days we will begin the liturgical season of Christmas. But what is it

that we’ve been preparing for? What exactly are we cele-brating? Learn more about this joyous season on our web-site’s Christmas page (found in the “Seasonal” sub-menu under the “More” tab on the navigation bar). It’s loaded with prayers, thoughts, meditations, and fun facts about Christmas and it traditions. Jesus IS the reason for the sea-son. Come, let us adore Him !!
