Advisors, please hand out your students transcripts at this time.

Students, after the transcripts are handed out we will be asking you to review your transcript carefully. Some things to look for are whether or not summer school classes, if taken, are listed on the transcript.

You will also want to check your grades and credit totals carefully. If you find an error or you have questions regarding your transcript, mark the changes on the transcript and return it to your Advisor, who will return them to the counseling center with the notations. Students, you should also talk directly with the teacher if there is a grading error.

The Course Designation Key is located in the upper left side of your transcript. Each code has a different meaning. This slide shows all of the codes with the definitions. Timberline does not offer International Baccalaureate or Cambridge Program at THS. The other designations, however, are a part of our program. Some examples of each of the designations are:

A transcript is the official record of the students high school enrollment and academic performance for each semester. The transcript includes all of these items.

Please note that ** the Washington State History requirement not been uploaded into our database yet. If you know you met the requirement in Middle School and do not see it on your transcript it is because they are being uploaded at a later time.

Freshman, you will not have a credit check sheet yet so this is their first time with this. Sophomores-Seniors: You should have been keeping track of these in your portfolios.

5Credit Check Sheet

A credit check sheet is the sheet you use to keep track of your credits and which classes are needed for graduation. You will update these each semester in Advisory.

***This matrix indicates which courses satisfy graduation requirements for Timberline High School only. For college entrance requirements, check the course catalog or see your Counselor.

In order to count as math credit; math classes need to be algebra I or above. Other math classes (pre-alg., etc count as elective credit). Classes with SUP codes generally count in the area indicated by the course name (e.-Resource Writing is an English).

Filling out the Credit Check SheetUsing your transcript, check the boxes for classes you passedEACH BOX = 0.5 Semester CreditPlease note: if a class counts in more than one area, you can ONLY use it once. If you have completed one subject area, any extra course in that area can be placed in the Electives boxes

One EXAMPLE of dual-credit class is Digital Photo, which can count toward EITHER an Art or CTE but NOT BOTH.

If you have completed one subject area such as 2 years of science and take a 3rd year of science, the boxes you will check are the elective boxes. If you retook a class and received a better grade, if you dont need the credit you can have the higher grade count toward your GPA rather then the lower one. If this is your situation, please mark that on your transcript for your Advisor to give to the Counseling Center. 11Question and Answer Time
