Dear Colleagues,

after the great success of the 2nd “TransAlp Plastic Surgical Meeting” last year and with the en-couragement of the participants I am pleased to announce the 3rd Edition which is to be held on May 2-3, 2014 in Brixen, South Tyrol. In 2013 I involved many colleagues from Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. We had the opportunity to compare our different modus operandi in a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, keeping a high scientific level. In 2014, I would like to repeat the previous experience and present a varied and engaging program for an exciting weekend of in-depth updates and dynamic discussions. The meeting will offer 2 days to talk about Plastic Surgery in all its fields. The focus will be set on complicated cases, but also on risks/benefits balance and indications. There will be suitable time to compare widely our different solutions and techniques in every query in a public debate. In this unique event, we aim not only to present the insights and perspectives of expert specialists, but we also intend to promote a closer collaboration among practitioners from different countri-es in order to exchange personal experience and update treatment strategies. I invite you to send your abstract relating to new techniques, clinical challenges and issues encountered in your own daily practice in Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. I am confident, that this experience will lead to a quality improvement in our profession and will also be a valuable learning tool for young colleagues that I hope will participate raising the scientific aspect and animating the social part of the event. As last year the social program will provide the opportunity to know each other and favour opinion exchange in a friendly atmosphere. You will also have the possibility to discover the surrounding breathtaking landscape and taste our delicious traditional food.I’m looking forward to welcome you personally here in Brixen, in the heart of the spectacular South Tyrolean Alps!

Dear Friends,

given the enthusiastic participation to the two past editions, it is with the greatest pleasure that I ac-cepted the renewed invitation by Doz. Dr. Gardetto to collaborate in the organization of the 3rd “TransAlp Plastic Surgical Meeting” meeting to be held in Brixen. Last year we were pleased to host a mix of more experienced and younger Plastic Surgeons coming from the Alpine region (Austria, Italy, Swiss and Germany), with the aim of sharing ideas on different topics of our field, as were suggested by Surgeons operating in the transalpine area, and commented on by internationally famed colleagues also of transalpine origin. Next year will be the occasion to further develop and tighten relationships between transalpine groups, in view of the approaching 1st International Meeting of the “Middle Europe Plastic Surgery Group” I will co-chair with Prof. Arnez in Trieste, Italy, between November 6-8, 2014. Being sure of your participation to this important and growing event, both in quantity and quality of participants, and of the friendly welcome which the city of Brixen will renew to us, I invite you to make sure you plan it in your schedule for next May.
