FILLING STATION. Moved and seconded.
That the request of Dave Else to install a filling station
at 529 East 2nd Street same be referred to the Mayor and Street and
Alley committee with power to act.

Saindon. Motion carried unanimous.
Moved and seconded.
That the request of E.B.Frankforther to remove his Gasoline
tump on the parking at corner of Sixth and Lincoln Street and rebuild
the driveway as per sketch on file.

That we empiov C.A.Haskins Engineer to assist J.L.Doster
to survey grounds for wells, said ground joining on the City property
northwest of City.

That in the matter of purchasing fire hose, same be left
to the Fire Committee and the Mayor with power to act.

LIBRARY . Appoinments of members of Board Free Public Library.
Mayor Millirons, Gentlemen of the Council I herewith recommend
the re-appointment Rev.A.T.Ennis and Mrs Edith Layton to succeed
themselves as members of Board Free Public Library for the ensuing
term and also recommend the appointment of Mrs Maude McConahey to
fill the unexpired term of Mrs Stella Neilson.
Moved seconded and carried.
That the appointments of members of Librarv Board recommended
by the Mayor is approved and appointments confirmed.
PAVEMENT. Moved and seconded.
That the Mayor appoint a committee to ascertain the cost of
repairing the Street pavement and report their finding to the Mayor.

to the Park Committee to look up Fred Wait's proposition and for fur

That the request of C.D.Peterson, to run a six inch pipe
thru storm sewer under railway on Washington Street to run water to
swimming pool, permission be granted.

FIRE HOSE. Moved by Councilman Sturges and seconded by Councilman
Atwater. That the 8ity purchase 750 feet 2% inch Goodrich
Fire hose at $ 1.20 per foot.

ce relating to resurfacing,repaving and repairing street pavement.

building 12 x 22 feet one story high eight inch wall of tile with fire
proof roof ,on ground leased at rear of Cook's building at 103 West
6th Street facing B'way.

That the request of J.M.Caylor praying the Council for a reduc

That the Street Commissioner be instructed to see that CD.
Peterson carry out his request of 3/2/25 to run his pipe through the
sewer.

and the light ordered installed

PARRATT'S REQUEST. Moved seconded and carried.
That in the matter of Maude Parratt's request to have water
main extended to 17th Street on Olive Street same be referred to the
Water Works Committee with power to act.
C.D.PETERSON. Moved seconded and carried.
That in the matter of C.D.Peterson in regard to running a 6"
pipe to his swimming pool same be referred to the Street and Alley
Committee.REQUEST G.W.COFFEY. Moved and seconded.
That the request of G.W.Coffey to build a Garage on parking
at fifth and Willow Street.permission is granted up to such time
that the City may use the street.

Minutes of the meeting of the Mayor and Councilmen, City of
Concordia, State of Kansas, held in the Council Chambers on Friday
the eighteenth day of September, 1925.
Council met in special Session as prescribed by law for the pur
pose of canvassing the vote cast at the special election held in
the City of Concordia,Kansas, on Tuesday September fifteenth, 1925
Question submitted; "shall bonds be issued by the City of Con
cordia,Kansas, to the amount of $ 100.000 for the purpose of constr
ucting extentions and improvements th the Water Work3 System of said
City of Concordia,Kansas.
Mayor D.S.Atwater presiding,
the following members of the Council were present and responded roll

Members of the Council proceeded to canvass the vote cast at the
special election held on September fifteenth, 1925 and declared

bearing interest at the rate of 4f4 per annum,payable semi-annually,
both principal and interest payable at the State Treasurers office,
Topeka,Kansas.We will apy par and acrued interest to date of delivery
plus a premium of f 535.00 the funds to remain on deposit with us
without interest and to be paid to meet Engineer's estimates.
7/e further agree to furnish blank bonds at our expense and to pay our
Attorney's fee for examination of transcript.And to forward to the
City of Concordia,Kansas a check of $ 2000 dollars which is to apply
as part payment on said bonds when the legality of same has been
approved by our x\ttorney. Said check to be returned to us if this bid
is not accepted,or if our Attorneys decline to approve the legality of
the issue This check to be forfeited as liqidated damages if we refuse
to carry out the terms of this proposal.This sale is subject to the

It was then moved, seconded and carried that we approve and accept
the estimate of cost of Water Works improvements, prepaired by Mr
Chas.A.Haskins accounting Engineer, and same be placed on file.

That the sealed bids for the construction,of extentions and
improvements to the water works system of the City of Concordia be
be opened,the hour of two o'clock the hour therefore having arrived,
various bids were opened.

That the Geo.Mohr proposition to furnish the City with five
car loads of gravel at 80/ per ton to surface Street with gravels from
Third Street to City limits, same be referred to the Street and Alley
Committee.7/ATER MAIN EXT. Moved by Councilman Weaver and seconded by
Councilman Carlgren, that the petition of Robt.Misell and others
request the City to extend the water main on Tenth Street from Willow
Street to the western boundery of Elmhurst, same be granted.

Whereas, said Olive Street and Lincoln Street have been gradedijguttered,curbed and paved, and
Whereas, the intersection of Eleventh Street and Olive Streetand the intersection of Eleventh Street and Lincoln Street have beengraded,guterred,curbed and paved, and
Whereas, the interyeningoportion of Eleventh Street consistingj of two blocks has not been graded, guttered,curbed and paved, and

of his testing wells as per his contract and leaving out the Sullivan'sj
claim of $ 750.00 until said Sullivan's bill can be adjusted. j!jj

ing: That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter jj
into a contract with the Chicago,Burlington & Quiney Railroad Company,
. permitting the City to lay and maintain a water pipe line on the right
of way of the Railroad Company, at Concordia,Kansas.Roll call;Aye:Carlgren,Swanson,Rogers,Nordeen,Burns and Saindon,City Councilmen.

Kansas. That the Consulting Engineer C.A.Uaskins being instructed to
specify a rock with a co-efficient of hardness of at least eight,to be
used ib the proposed street improvements which are about to be con-
: strueted by said City.
