TRAINING SYLLABUS FOR DEUTZ B/FL 912/ 913/ 914 ENGINES Three (3) days training course on DEUTZ B/FL 912/ 913/ 914 will consist of 50% theory and 50% practical. Both theory and practical will be carried out in our training centre. Our training centre is equipped with a F3L 912 training engine on turning stand and complete set of special tools. (A) THEORY 1. Introduction to DEUTZ B/FL 912/ 913/ 914 air-cooled diesel engine series. 2. Construction and design of 4-stroke air-cooled engines including both the direct and indirect injection system. 3. Checking of engine valve clearances including simplified methods. 4. Tightening procedures. 5. Highlight of B/FL 912/ 913/ 914 basic engine components like cylinder heads, bolts, valve springs, valves, valve guides and seating rings. 6. Basic construction and function of piston, piston rings and cylinder liner including measurement and analysis of common wear. 7. Construction and measurement of connecting rod, big end bearings, etc. 8. Function and maintenance of engine consumption air and exhaust system. 9. Measurement and analysis of compression pressure and crankcase pressure. 10. Function and maintenance of cooling system as applied to air-cooled engine. 11. Quality and viscosity of lubricating oil. 12. Function and maintenance of lubricating oil system. 13. Function and maintenance of diesel fuel system. 14. Function of injection pump and mechanical flyweight governor including possible adjustments. 15. Basic electrical starting system and wiring diagram for temperature sensor/ switch. TRAINING SYLLABUS FOR DEUTZ B/FL 912/ 913/ 914 ENGINES (B) PRACTICAL

1. Basic maintenance.

2. Dismantling of F3L 912 training engine.

3. Reassembling of F3L 912 training engine including usage of special tools and measuring instruments, eg measuring piston crown clearances, checking of valve clearances, etc.

4. Verify T.D.C. and marking point for commencement of delivery.

5. Mounting and timing of injection pump using a high pressure hand timing pump.
