Mr. Başar Şahin has held contract, commercial and project management positions with major �rms for more than 15 years and gained extensive experience in contract-claim management with a special emphasis in cost control, scheduling and dispute resolution. Mr. Sahin’s professional career started in Turkey and he then pursued a profession in Commercial Management in the USA for nearly 10 years. Upon his return to Turkey, he joined ICM Consulting as a contract and claims consultant.
Mr Sahin’s experience includes involvement in a wide variety of projects such as railroads, highways, tunnels, airports, process power plants, marine works, housing, oil-gas projects in Europe, Africa, Middle East and the USA. Mr Sahin holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and an LLM in Construction Law and Arbitration from the Robert Gordon University. He has Turkish as his mother tongue and speaks English and German in full professional pro�ciency.
Mr Sahin is a resident of Turkey and the USA. He is a Member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF), Chamber of Civil Engineers Istanbul (IMO) and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb).
Mr. Mehmet Emin has held contract and project management positions with both Employers and Contractors for more than 10 years. Throughout his professional life, he has gained extensive experience in contract-claim management and project management with speci�c focus on scheduling and delay analysis, contract forms, contract preparation, contract-claim management, evaluation of tenders including management of pre-bid and post-bid correspondence.
Mr. Aykın is considered an as expert in claims management for forensic planning. He has prepared numerious delay analysis claims and currently leads ICM’s planning department. Mr. Aykın’s experience consists of involvement in a wide variety of projects in countries including such as Turkey, Qatar, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Albania, Libya, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Mr.Aykin holds a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and an MBA from İstanbul Bilgi University. He is a Member of Chamber of Civil Engineers, İstanbul. Mr.Aykın has residency in Turkey.

This class is oriented towards practical training and is not theoretical. It is designed for the maximum interaction between the tutors and the delegates via various case studies. Course material and discussions will be held in the English language. During the course the delegates will have the opportunity to analyze and interpret various contract clauses from the practical aspects of the construction industry in light of the tutors’ project experiences.
Delegates of this course should have a basic knowledge of the implication of international construction claims, and who are willing to improve their skills in the direct application of such claims by sample case studies and in-seminar discussions.
