Student presentations
At the end of day one the student gets homework.Two of the eight lectures given during the day have to be prepared by each student and presented the next morning:
• Givethestudentasubjectandtimetopreparehim/herself.• Tellthestudentthatthepresentationofeachlecturehastotakeabout10minutes.• Thestudentcanuseallmaterialtheyneedfortheirpresentation. This can be the flip-over we work with during our courses, material to show, a flip-over to write on, etc. Don’t tell they should use it, look at what they self think they should use.
Day two starts with the student presentations of the studied lectures of day one.
• Splitthegroupintwo,givegroup1and2anevaluationform.Thereare2differentforms. -Group1willfocuson:information, order, material use and feedback on comments. - Group 2 will focus on: interaction, body language, power and contact.• TheMasterTrainerhasanownformtofillinwithatotalevaluationofthepresentation.• Givethepresentersometimetopreparetheroom,theymightwanttochangetheseatingoftheotherstudents, move their flip-over or get electricity for the connector.• Afterthepresentation,thepresentergetsfeedbackfrombothgroups.• TheMasterTrainercoordinatesthefeedback.• TheevaluationwiththeMasterTrainertakesplaceoneonone.

Thank the students for their attention and inform them about continuation courses.
Practical tips for before and during the presentation
1. Prevent surprises by a good preparation and arrive in ample time. • Collectinformationaboutthegroupofpeople. • Checktheneededmaterials. • Practice.
2. Reduce tension by: • Deepandevenbreathingduringafewminutesbeforethepresentation. Repeatthisduringtheintroduction. This makes you feel relaxed. • Focussingonlyontheintroduction,therestwillfollow. • Gettingsomethingtodoatthebeginningofthepresentation(forexample,writeonaflip-over).
3. Do not feel like you are alone in front of a big group, by making contact with the group. • Talktosomeoftheparticipantsbeforethepresentation. Thismakesitfeellikeyouhavesomeacquaintancesin'theaudience'. • Makeyourselflookingattheaudience,makeeyecontact. • Adjustyourselftotheaudience,clothesetc,(peoplelikepeoplelikethemselves).
4. Use the following tools if needed: • Makeascenarioorscript,whichyoucanuseifyouloosethethreadofyourstory. - If you loose your thread you can summarize what you told before, while you look in your script what comes next. • Ifyoumakeamistakeorhaveaslipofthetongueyoucancorrectthisbysaying:'letmeputitinanotherway....' • Areyouastartingpresenter?Putatableinfrontofyou. - This makes you feel secure. - If you get more experience you will move through the area. • Focusonwillingandinterestedpeopleintheaudience.Theycanhelpyoubyaskingquestionsandmakeyoufeelsecure.
