ACHIEVE MASTERY OF MANDARIN AND ENGLISH - TWO OF THE WORLD’S MOST WIDELY SPOKEN LANGUAGESThe Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Hons) is a bilingual programme that is conducted in both English and Mandarin with lectures and course materials conveyed in both languages. While a foundation in Mandarin is desirable, non-native speakers are able to undertake complementary elective courses at INTI to achieve a suitable level of fluency in Mandarin. Upon completion of the course, graduates will have achieved mastery of two of the world’s most widely spoken languages.

PRACTICAL HANDS-ON COMPONENTA robust practical component is integrated into the academic programme. As part of their course requirements, students will follow a clinical supervisor to be exposed to standard medical practices in Traditional Chinese Medicine in a medical practice in Malaysia or in China. Students will be called to diagnose patients and perform various treatments under supervision. Upon graduation, students will have completed over 2,200 hours of clinical attachment and hands-on training.

This hands-on component is an invaluable foundation when graduates undertake their housemanship programme after graduation. To gain international exposure, and as part of their training, selected students will also be called upon to attend global symposiums and talks as well as participate in voluntary humanitarian efforts.

COLLABORATION WITH CHINA’S BEST UNIVERSITIES FOR TCMStudents can complete the course in Malaysia (5+0) with internship programmes locally or overseas in China or alternatively complete one or two years of the course (3+2 or 4+1) via a transfer programme at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, the Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. Successful completion of a two-year transfer programme at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine entitles a graduate to receive a dual graduate degree conferred by both universities. The 3 universities are consistently ranked as the top 10 universities for Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.

“The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) degree I obtained from INTI has equipped me with the skills I need in my practice and collaborations with medical practitioners all over the world. An achievement I am particularly proud of is to have helped establish Malaysia’s very first University Traditional Chinese Medicine Aid Team.”ETHAN LING LII CHAUTCM Practitioner, PinPoint Physio & AcupunctureBachelor in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Hons)

“I enrolled at INTI because it was the first university in Malaysia to offer Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Also, INTI’s facilities and study environment were great, plus it had an in-house TCM centre for clinical attachment. Today, I am working at a TCM clinic in Kuala Lumpur. I am also honoured to be the Vice-Secretary of the Malaysian Chinese Medical Association (MCMA), which is the only TCM organisation recognised by Ministry of Health.”EMILY GAN SIOU WENTCM Practitioner; Vice-Secretary, Malaysian Chinese Medical Association (MCMA)Bachelor in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Hons)

“Being English-educated, I knew that earning the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) degree would not be easy. Thus, I am extremely grateful to INTI TCM’s wonderful faculty Director and staff for their guidance and inspiration throughout my five years of study, which culminated in my obtaining a 1st Class Honours TCM degree.
