Remedial agent for the skin and mucosae

CompositionActive ingredient: dexpanthenol (5%), the alcohol corresponding to pantothenic acid. The solution con­tains phenododecinium bromide as antiseptic.

Properties‹Bepanthen› protects the skin and promotes wound­healing and regression of inflammations. ‹Bepanthen› is well tolerated.

Application and dosage Ointment and cream1. Treatment of all types of wounds,

such as abra sions, minor skin lesions, fissures, burns, skin irritations (e.g. sunburn, or as a result of x­ray or sun­lamp treatment), chafed skin, cutaneous inflammations, ulcers (including leg ulcers), and inflammation of the nasal mucosae.

To be applied once or several times daily, as required.

2. For women: – Care of the breasts during

lactation: preven tion and treat­ment of sore nipples (fissures, inflammation).

Cover with appropriate com­presses after every application of ointment or cream.

– In treatment of mucosal defects of the as uteri. To be applied once or several times daily as pres cribed.

3. In infant care: prevention and treatment of dia per rash, red­dening of the skin and cutaneous inflammation.

To be applied after every change of napkin.

The choice of ointment or cream depends on the type of the skin.

Ointment. The ointment is relatively fatty and is particularly recommend­ed in treatment of dry skin.

Cream. As a nonfatty form, recommen ded rather for weeping lesions, uncovered parts of the body such as the face, and areas covered with hair, etc. The ease with which it can be applied makes it particularly suitable for use against painful sun burn and minor burns.

Posologie et mode d'emploi Onguent et crème1. Traitement de blessures de toute

nature telles que écorchures, lésions cutanées banales, gerçu­res, brûlures, irritations cutanées (par exemple coups de soleil ou irritation due à une radiation ionisante ou à une lampe à rayons ultra­violets), érythème fessier, inflammations cutanées, ulcères (y compris les ulcères vari qneux) et inflammations de la muqueuse nasale. Selon les cas, une ou plusieurs applications par jour.

2. Chez la femme: – En période d'allaitement: pré­

vention et traite ment des lésions des mamelons (rhagades, in ­flammations).

Appliquer l'onguent ou la crème en com presses après chaque tétée.

– Traitement des lésions de la muqueuse du col de l'utérus.

Selon les cas, une ou plusieurs applications par jour con­formément aux prescriptions du médecin.

3. Chez le nourrisson: prévention et guérison de l'érythème fessier, des rougeurs et des inflam mations cutanées.

Appliquer lors de chaque change­ment de couches.

Le choix de I’onguent ou de la crème est fonction de la nature de la peau.

Onguent. II contient un fort pour­centage de corps gras (lanoline) et est recommandé chez les per sonnes ayant la peau sèche.

Crème. En tant que forme non grasse, elle est plutôt recommandée pour le traitement des plaies suin­tantes, les parties du corps non recouvertes telles que le visage et les zones de pilosité, etc. Facile à étaler,
