Tracy 5th Grade - Assignments May 18-22nd
This is a current schedule to follow for ELA and Math. If you have any questions regarding technology please contact our MTSD help center at [email protected].
Here is a review of prior technology help information: Clever is the easiest way for students to initially sign in on a device: ID#@millcreeksd.org AND their password is their initials capitalized with their month, day, and last 2 digits of their birth year. Example: [email protected] AB051209 Google Sign In: ID#@millcreeksd.org AND your password is your initials capitalized followed by the month, day, and last 2 digits of your birth year. Example: [email protected] AB051209 Google Classroom: Once you are logged into Google, click on the nine square in the top right corner. Here you will see your gmail, slides, docs, drive, etc. Scroll down until you see Google Classroom (it looks like a green chalkboard). Every student has been sent an invitation and the class code to use for your specific teacher. Email reminders have been going out almost daily. **Students that see Miss Jones for math and/or reading, please refer to Miss Jones’s google classroom for that subject content and adapted assignments. ***Students who see Mrs. Callicott for math and/or reading, please refer to Mrs. Callicott’s google classroom for adaptations and accommodations to the curriculum. All assignments continue to be based on the large Wonders Anthology textbook and our My Math book. If you left either of these books at school due to absence or another reason, you can get on-line into your Clever account (type in Tracy Elementary) and access both books through the app called McGraw Hill. (scroll down to see it in red).

Here is the work for the entire week. Complete at your own pace. You are being assigned more Graded Work now that we are all getting settled into a routine. Required Graded Work Assignments - due by Friday, at 11:59PM. Remember to hit SUBMIT on all quizzes, and view the self-checking answers when you're done.
Reading Assignments: May 18-20th: ”Ida B” Close Reading Activity: Required Graded Work Located ONLINE in our Google Classroom- if you are not able to complete the work in the Google Classroom, you can print one out see printable document below and send a picture to your teacher by Friday. The story is in your Wonders Anthology book (p.346-359) - Enjoy!

May 20th-21st: “Ida B” Comprehension Quiz - Required Graded Work : Located ONLINE in our Google Classroom. This assignment will be posted online Wednesday. If you are unable to access the Google Classroom- write a summary and submit to your teacher by Google Docs, email with a screenshot...whatever works for your family. You do not have to do both the quiz and the summary.

Math Assignments: My Math Chapter 12 Geometry (continued)
May 18th: Lesson 9: Volume of Prisms (pages 955-958) Watch the Brainpop video “Volume of Prisms” before the lesson. You may go to www.brainpop.com and enter “5Gresh” for both the username and password, then search for the title. May 19th: Activity: Try finding the volume of several different boxes in your house (ie. cereal box, Jell-o box, shoebox, etc.). Measure the length, width, and height in either cm or inches and then multiply the numbers together. You do not need to submit anything for this activity, but we are trusting that you try to find the volume of at least one-two objects.
May 20th: Chapter 12 Review (pages 979-981) Use your glossary at the end of the book for help in completing numbers 1-12. Then try your best at questions 13-21, skipping question 22. Look back at the lessons in the chapter for help answering the questions.
May 21st: Chapter 12 Quiz. There will be a short quiz to wrap up our geometry chapter. You will have Thursday and Friday(if necessary) to complete it. Use your MyMath book for assistance if you need to. May 22nd: No School (Snow Make-up Day)
