Simple, strong, light and practical – for decades, these virtues stood for the “Trabant” brand and they will be maintained. What’s more, the new “Trabant nT” is econo-mical, environmentally-sound, innovative and individual. It stands out as a modern, solely electric-powered car that isn’t ashamed of its roots. Driving pleasure can go hand-in-hand with environmental awareness and a focus on the basics. The “Trabant nT” is on its way: a safe and reliable

city- and medium-range vehic-le, a second family car, a handy helper for service providers from a wide range of areas. The “Trabant nT” is already driving the future today. It both meets our need for mobility and saves the environment in exemplary fashion. See for yourself!

Simply trend-setting – the power-plant of the “Trabant nT“

Rated at 47 kW, an asynchronous electric motor, in com-bination with a lithium-ion-battery in the vehicle’s trans-mission tunnel, has more than enough power to drive the front axles. Given that cars in Germany are driven an average of 50 km per day, the “Trabant nT” can be fully recharged overnight for about 1€ in electricity costs. There’s no better way to get around!

Distinctive design elements of the original Trabant P 601 Universal were elaborated on and enhanced for this fashionable, modern interpretation. The nT was to be recognizable as a Trabant, but at the same time clearly independent and distinctive in form. No “retro” concept was ever in the foreground. It is, in fact, the picture established in people’s minds over decades, which the nT ties in with. Besides it many new features, it hence offers a feeling of familiarity and security. Since the “Trabant nT” is a simple, functional and honest vehic-

le, these values are also expressed in its shape. Simple surfaces draw their energy from the subtle tension of the longitudinal axis. No unnecessary beading, edges or conspicuous ornamentation distract from the overall shape. The trapezoidal grill opening downwards, the front and rear lights, the bumper pads as well as the su-perimposed roof are the fundamental graphic elements. The proportions and the stylistic elements chosen, plus the finish, give the nT a highly dynamic presence despite its practicality.

The smooth, strong and clear shape is reflected in func-tional interior design and refreshing colors. The air condi-tioning, supported by the solar roof, provides for pleasant conditions even in midsummer. Both a navigation system and an MP3 player can be plugged into the available sockets ready to go. The “Trabant nT” is a car of the future. Making use of its worldwide cult potential, it offers us the chance to put an automotive alternative on the road suitable for everyday use, and to combine environmen-

tal and budgetary considerations. Our current partners are capable of accompanying us in the step from project development to a production company, but need help in providing the necessary investment for serial production – although concepts towards that end are rapidly taking shape. In fact, the best-case scenario would see the “Trabant nT” ready for sale at the beginning of 2012. A strong brand is looking for a strong investor because backed by our vision, the time for realization has begun.

Compact, sturdy, likeable and full of symbolism, no other vehicle is as closely connected with the history of modern Germany as the Trabant. Hardly any other historic vehic-le stirs so much interest and emotions even today. Sin-ce 1990, Herpa has already produced several hundred thousand examples of the Trabant as quality models in the 1/87 scale. For the Trabant’s 50th anniversary in 2007, Herpa started the initiative “new Trabi” and presented a first draft at the IAA 2007. Due to the worldwide po-sitive response, the initiative “newTrabi” advanced and

became a project with capable partners. The automobile designer Nils Poschwatta was so convinced by the idea that he decided to devote himself to the project full-time and developed the entire design-work for the “Trabant nT”. Ronald Gerschewski, managing director of IndiKar Individual Karosseriebau GmbH with his dedicated team as well as network partners from the Autoland Saxony have developed and built the concept car “Trabant nT” for the IAA 2009.
