  • INSULATED PANELS

    13

    Insulated PanelsINSULATION CORE OPTIONS

We produce Foam Insulation Core panels available inthickenesses as follows:

PUR – (Polyurethane) : with 90% minimum closedcells. Rigid polyurethane (PUR) materials are cellularthermosetting insulation materials that typically form achar/burn when subject to heat and flame impingement.

The char acts as an insulator that affords someprotection to the underlying product. However, PUR willburn by charring and producing significant quantities ofsmoke in the process.

PUR B2: This core produces no flaming droplets duringa fire and is self-extinguishing, which means that thecore stops burning when the heat source disappears.Studies have also shown that a PUR panel that is fixed tothe framework with a continuous mechanical fastenerdoes not fail until the structural framework fails.

PUR B3: This core performs less well in a fire than typeB2. It emits more smoke and produces more heat duringa fire. It is forbidden to use B3 classified insulation inDubai.

PIR – (Polyisocyanurate): with 90% minimum closedcells. Rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation that isnormally classed as B-s2, d0. A PIR core is a type ofpolyurethane that has undergone significant materialmodification. In the event of a fire the core chars on theexposed side; this charred layer then protects the rest ofthe core from the fire. This means that a panel with a PIRcore is more resistant to fire than a PUR B2 core. It alsoemits less heat and smoke.

These panels, and systems which they belong to, covera number of usages including roofing and wall cladding. They include:

    • Cold Store Systems and Panels• Concealed Fix Wall Panels• TR45/150 and TR45/250 Roof and Wall Panels• Pre-Insulated Partition Wall Panels

The light weight of polyurethane rigid foam board alsoprovides an incentive for innovative lightweightconstruction techniques due to its ability – especially inthe form of sandwich panels - to bridge wide spans.

Below is a figure showing examples of the relativethicknesses of alternative building materials needed tomatch the thermal conductivity properties of rigid PUfoam at 50mm.

    Item Thickness

    Brick 1,720mm

    Concrete Block 760mm

    Softwood 280mm

    Fireboard 130mm

    Cork 100mm

    Mineral Wool 90mm

    Polystyrene 80mm

    Polyurethane 50mm

Our PUR and PIR sandwich panel cores are approved andcertified by Dubai Municipality as Class E against thestandard BS EN 13165: 2008 (Thermal Insulationproducts for buildings – Factory made rigid polyurethanefoam (PUR) products).

We produce a range of both team and mineral woolinsulated panels in our continuous production facility inAbu Dhabi.

Mineral Wool Insulation Core: available in thicknessesfrom 50-200mm.

Mineral fibre/stone wool insulating core materials areclassified as as A2-s1, d0 non-combustible and arereliable fire protection materials, since they are bothnon-combustible and do not conduct heat. This meansthat it will not spread fire and can withstandtemperatures above 1000ºC.

When incorporated within a sandwich panel structuremineral fibre/stone wool insulating core materials aresuitable for a range of applications where fire retardantproperties are essential, for example internal andexternal walls, ceilings and partitions.

The mineral wool we use is approved by DubaiMunicipality and Dubai Civil Defense against ASTMC612 and BS EN 13162.

    Cold Store Panel

Even the best quality products do not stand a chance

when it comes to surviving in unsuitable storage

    conditions.

Whether its meat, fruits, vegetables or dairy products

your promise of quality to your clients can only be

achieved through the smart use of premium cold

storage systems that guarantee your product to be

fresh, halal, a high quality one or even just the fact that

    it fits for human consumption.

Our PUR and PIR foam insulated cold store panels are

produced through the use of a patented* technology

making us the world’s only automated online producer

of cold store panels with online(1) camlock(2) production.

This technology allows us to guarantee unparalleled

speed of delivery and a better ability to maintain high

quality density. This leads to excellent control of non-

shrinkage and bubbling of the panel, resulting in a

clean, tight fit of the panels and a clean aesthetic look

as an end result. Of course, the tight fit ensures that

there is minimal transfer of heat and energy loss that

regularly causes rising energy costs for end-users that

    can be prevented.

Our insulated panels can be used for dry stores, chillers,

freezers and blast freezers. They can be used for plant

and food consumables, grains, pulses and spices, meat,

poultry, fish and dairy products in all heir different

varieties. In addition, a smartly designed store enables

food processing, fermentation of produce and

controlled temperature storage in the safest and

cleanest environment. We are able to produce our

panels in a range of finishes, and with a selection of

finishes, both standard and special, including food safe

    coatings.

By definition, flashing refers to thin continuous pieces ofsheet metal installed to prevent the passage of waterinto a structure from an angle or joint. Flashing may beexposed or concealed. Exposed flashing is usually of asheet metal, such as aluminum, or painted galvanizedsteel. Metal flashing should be provided with expansionjoints on long runs to prevent deformation of the metalsheets. The selected metal should not stain or be stainedby adjacent materials or react chemically with them.

Flashing can assume a number of forms including:

Roof flashing is placed around discontinuities or objectswhich protrude from the roof of a building (such as pipesand chimneys, or the edges of other roofs) to deflectwater away from seams or joints.

Wall flashing may be embedded in a wall to direct waterthat has penetrated the wall back outside, or it may beapplied in a manner intended to prevent the entry ofwater into the wall. Wall flashing is typically found atinterruptions in the wall, such as windows and points ofstructural support.

In addition to flashing, our production capabilities enableus to cater to highly demanding design requirements. With a very flexible aptitude for complicated shapes anddesigns the flashing options that we produce are ideallyused to seal membrane edgings at walls, expansionjoints, drains, gravel stops and other places where themembrane, cap or counter flashing shields the upperedges of the base flashing.

We provide our clients with a comprehensive range ofaccessories and fixing components that include:

  • T-SEAM® (STANDING SEAM SYSTEMS)

T-Seam® belongs to the family of standing seam roofingsystem, wherein the roof sheets are fixed to the structurewithout puncturing the sheets. This is possible by usingspecially designed aluminum extruded seam clips. Theadjacent seams of the T-Seam® sheets are overlappedover the aluminum extruded clips and closed with anelectrically operated seaming machine. The specialdesign feature of the seam clips allows for the expansionmovements of the T-Seam® panel while at the sameresisting the wind uplift forces.

Our own brand of standing seam solutions comescomplete with internationally recognized approvals, athorough accumulation of experience and an acquiredability to cater to highly complicated requirements. T-Seam® is the ideal solution for projects where designflexibility, superior performance and outstandingdurability are key. Roll-formed in the factory or on site, the roof sheets, which can be formed in lenghtsexceeding 100m in a single panel, are easily fixed to thestructure. The lack of need for the penetration thesheets, eliminates the risk of water leakage and rust.

With superior weather - tightness and a,maintenance-free life, T-Seam® roofs are the popularchoice for new construction, retrofit applications andexpansions to existing buildings. T-Seam® roofs easilyprovide beyond 15 years of superior maintenance-freeperformance.

T-Seam® roofs are engineered to withstand rain, windsnow and sun, in addition to their ability to endure thenegative effects arising from thermal expansion.

Ideal for use on new buildings as well as retrofitapplications, standing T-Seam® profiles are available invarious widths and heights to accommodate almost anyproject. In most instances, T-Seam® panels are rollformed on site by a portable T-Seam® manufacturingmachine, thereby incurring less chance for panel damageduring shipping.

Properly installed standing T-Seam® metal roof willprovide longevity with very little maintenance.

This exceptional return on investment makes theT-Seam® design the most cost-effective choice for clients.

  • K-SPAN SYSTEM

The K-Span system manufactured by TigerPROFILES meets

the requirements for commercial, industrial, agricultural,

    military, aviation or institutional pre-engineered

    buildings.

Similar to T-Seam® panels, our panels are roll formed on

site to your required length using the portable roll

forming machine. These panels are self-supporting and

modular. The K-Span foundation is prepared and the

panels are connected in a straight or arched fashion and

are shaped into a solid unit as per your design

    requirements.

The final shape and strength of the materials used

cancels the need for columns, beams, or any other type

of interior support. This ensures that the built up space

inside the K-Span structure can be fully utilized for the

purpose it was built, with minimal constriction in space

and movement. The need for conventional steel

structures is eliminated, thus drastically reducing the

overall time and cost required to get from concept to

    reality.

All of the panel-to-panel connections are joined using a

seaming machine that eliminates the need and presence

of holes, nuts, bolts, or any other type of fastener to

slow down construction or create leaks.

    Characteristics

    • Durability – life time waterproof seams

    • Versatility – adapts to a wide variety of design

    functions

    • Can be used together with conventional structures

    • Speed of construction

    • Lower construction and maintenance cost

TigerPROFILES BUILDING MATERIALS TRADING LLC. Based in

Dubai, TigerPROFILES caters to the region’s requirements

for premium building materials. For more info about

    TigerPROFILES, please visit www.TigerPROFILES.com

    The Tiger Group

The UAE-based TigerGROUP, was founded in 1968 by

Lebanese brothers Robert and Aziz Nasr.

The first Tiger Company was founded in Dubai in 1968,

with the aim of serving the construction industry in the

UAE and the rest of the Gulf. The vision was to create a

group that would be self-sufficient in serving itself and

the construction industry’s needs in the Middle East.

Over the next three decades, five more companies were

launched, each specializing in various segments of the

industry such as manufacturing, contracting and trading.

In 1968, TigerSTEEL ENGINEERING was launched for the

manufacturing of steel structures, warehouses, industrial

plants, tanks and silos as well as other related steel

    works.

Today TigerSTEEL is an integrated structural steel solution

provider whose diverse range of products covers all areas

    of steel fabrication including:

    1. Heavy built-up assemblies (super structure work)

    2. Hot Rolled steel structures

    3. Secondary steel (platforms and walkways)

    4. Miscellaneous works (handrails and ladders)

    5. Plate works (stacks, ducts, tanks and vessels)

TigerSTEEL offers flexible, tailor-made solutions and

simultaneously manages projects that range from light to

heavy steel structures with diverse applications. This is

attained through seamless logistics and specialized

coordination of production, at the plants in Sharjah and

    Abu Dhabi.

The result is a yearly production capacity of 48,000 to

60,000 tons of structural steel and enhanced products.

    With landmark projects developed internationally,

    TigerSTEEL geographical footprint encompasses projects

in the G.C.C., North African and South East Asian

    countries.

The following areas of specialization and their

applications have consolidated TigerSTEEL line of

expertise, while services have been adapted to better suit
