Town of Wenham Town Hall 138 Main Street Wenham, MA 01984 ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS Application for 77 Main Street NATURE OF APPLICATION: New England Loom is a curated vintage rug business that would like to lease the property at 77 Main Street

from property owner, Tom Berry. New England Loom has previously been online only, marketed primarily

through Instagram, and has gained a following of over 40k over the last three years. To date founders Josh

and Lindsey Graziano have run the business solely out of their home on Larch Row, shipping over 60 packages

a month through the Wenham post office. Our only retail presence currently is at Honeycomb bakery in

Hamilton, which carries a small collection of our mini rugs. Our growth over the last year has come with an

increased amount of followers who request to see rugs in person and given the current climate we are living

in, we have been searching for a space that’s separate from our home’s garage to host customers.

The goal of the New England Loom shop at 77 Main is to be open daily by appointment and we anticipate an

average of 5-10 customer visits per day. We would follow all Covid-19 protocols, which might make traffic on

the lower end of this number at the onset of opening. The shop’s main purposes would be customer rug

showings, pick-up of orders from customers who are local, design consultations, and general shopping for our

smaller and giftable items like tiny rugs and our new vintage kilim shoe line that we’d be able to stock in the

small space. We’re excited about the opportunity to be part of the small business community in Wenham and

given the large percentage of our following that lives in New England, the larger opportunity to bring new

people into the town who we can then refer to go on to support other local businesses and the local

economy while in the area.
