Silverados Football ~ August - November

This has been a busy summer in St. Stephen with a very successful lineup of festivals and events – Chocolate Fest, International Homecoming Festival, International Lumberjack Competition at the Ganong Nature Park, Thursday night musical concert series, Canada Day and New Brunswick Day celebrations, Fall Fair, and lots more. Thanks to staff and volunteers who make these things happen. We could not be so great a town without all of you.

On November 1st, a Canada/U.S. hockey game is scheduled at the Garcelon Civic Center as part of the World Under 17 series – a great opportunity to see world class hockey right here in our town. Also world class, the Aces are back with great optimism for a successful and entertaining season.

Recreational opportunities abound with organized sports activities and personal options, including swimming, skating, and walking at the Garcelon Civic Center. I encourage you to check out the great programs they offer. There was a major funding announcement earlier this summer about expanding the trails in our area to link up the Trans Canada Trail system to the U.S. Greenway Trail system which will be a tremendous hiking, running, and biking experience for us, and which will also attract tourists alike.

Recreation is important. According to the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, more than 60% of adult New Brunswickers are overweight. The demand for health care is growing and becoming more expensive. There is a link between those two. Let’s get out and get some exercise which helps both physically and mentally. St. Stephen is alive with activities! Once again, I encourage you to get out and get involved. Save this guide and refer to it often.

Sincerely, Mayor Allan MacEachern

St. Croix Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club #67 is a Volunteer Organization that is 1 of 50 clubs within the New Brunswick Federation Snowmobile Clubs (NBFSC). Our goal is to maintain and fully groom over 150 km of trails from St Stephen to McAdam at least once every 7 days, which provides the gateway to the rest of over 8000 km of trails in the province.New Brunswick’s extensive, managed snowmobile trail system supports a significant winter tourism industry. The entire network is maintained primarily by the volunteers in each club of the NBFSC. It is estimated there are more than 20,000 snowmobile users in New Brunswick, counting residents and visitors. Maintaining the trails is dependent on funding from the Trail Permits that all snowmobilers must purchase and display when using NBFSC trails. When you purchase your trail pass at Service NB ’ you need to select a snowmobile club to belong to; by checking off Club #67, this makes you a member of the St Croix Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club which helps fund our club for trail main-tenance and grooming expenses. Follow us on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/St-Croix-Ridgerunners-Club-67-113175255417759/ for upcoming monthly meetings, events and activities from October thru March. We welcome new members and volunteers to play an active role in our club’s goals and maintaining our trails to NBFSC standards. EXCELLENCE ON ICE IN CHARLOTTE AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES

The County ACES are a community-based Junior A hockey club established by a volunteer board dedicated to bringing a high level of hockey to the new Garcelon Civic Center. The ACES joined the Maritime Junior A Hockey League (MHL) for the 2014-2015 season.

Our mission is to build a team for hockey fans across our region. Our goal is to compete on the ice but just as important, we are committed to our communities off the ice. The ACES and the MHL place a strong emphasis on education and community involvement.

TICKETS AND SPONSORSHIPS

The ACES could not have asked for better fan support during our inaugural season. We pledge to work hard to give our fans the best experience possible with the on-ice product and the entire game experience. Local businesses, non-profit groups, schools and community organizations have realized positive benefits from the addition of the ACES to our communities.

With one of highest average attendances in the MHL, there is currently a waiting list for season tickets but single game tickets and flex passes are available at acesjrhockey.com or at the box office on game days.

As a community-based team, the ACES depend on the support of businesses in our region. Sponsorships are available at a range of funding levels. Please consider supporting the ACES as we cannot exist without our partners. For information, contact us at [email protected] or call President John Hyslop at 469-1895.

The St. Stephen Junior ACES are a community based Junior A hockey team operating from the Garcelon Civic Center (GCC) and playing in the Maritime Hockey League (MHL). The Team was established in 2014 by a volun-teer board dedicated to providing a high level of hockey for the region.

The goals of the ACES include being successful both on and off the ice. The ACES and the MHL place a strong emphasis on education, volunteering and community involvement.

BILLET PROGRAM The Team billets players with local families during the MHL season. There are a number of benefits to being a billet fam-ily. Should you be interested in becoming a billet or just have questions about the program contact Pege at 467-1877 or [email protected].

For more information contact:Stacey Noddin, President (506) 755-2235 or email [email protected] Or check out the NBFSC web page at http://www.nbfsc.com/
