VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – WATER SAMPLING PROGRAM The Town is looking for residents in the communities of Holland Landing, Queensville and Sharon whose homes are serviced by the Town’s municipal water supply system to participate in a Water Sampling Program. As part of the program, you will have your water tested for trace amounts of lead between June 15 and October 15, 2018. The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) requires municipalities to sample for lead in residential private plumbing. Please note, this program is meant to ensure the quality of water in private plumbing is of the highest drinking water standards. The Town tests for lead on the Town’s side of the drinking water system and has no reason to believe that lead exists in the drinking water supply. If you are interested in participating in the program, please contact Customer Services at 905-478-4282 or [email protected]. WATER METER UPGRADE PROGRAM The Town’s water meter upgrade program has begun in Mount Albert, with a total of 1300 water meters scheduled to be replaced by the end of summer. Evans Supply Limited/Scott Parker Services will be replacing existing meters with a new upgraded version that transmits water meter reading wirelessly to a remote device. Water meter replacement is by appointment only, appointments can be scheduled Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. To book your appointment, call Evans Supply Limited at 905-237-5045.
