As natural development to Transfluid’spower transmission product range, theTowerClutch fulfills a growing marketdemand for a disconnectable, compact dryclutch with high capacity hydraulic pump pads.With the ability to easily drive multipleimplements, leading manufacturers of mobilemachinery have been finding applicationsfor its use in rock crushers, wood chippers,drill rigs, waste grinders, road mills andreclaimers.Additionally, reliability and the flexiblemodular design of the TowerClutch make ituseful in marine applications such as workboats, tugs and dredges.

Assembled with time tested and provenheavy-duty production products andcomponents the TowerClutch providesunsurpassed performances and reliability.The oil/air actuated dry clutch (HF series) isflanged to the engine through an innovativesplitter box (Stelladrive series) which mountsto standard SAE engine flywheel and housingconnections.The splitter box pump pads accommodateSAE B, C, D, or E hydraulic pumps with thepossibility to disconnect each of them byinstalling the CC650 pump clutch(see Stelladrive catalogue).Torsional vibrations dampening andcompensation of radial and angularmisalignment is assured by a flexible couplingmounted on TowerClutch’s input.The TowerClutch is a self-standingtransmission. The hydraulic block, feed pump,filter and the MPCB-R5 electronic controllerwith wire harnesses are completelypreassembled in a compact user-friendlydesign that eliminates additional plumbingand wiring associated with similar products.The MPCB-R5 controller can be wired forsingle system control or interfaced with themachines main control system in order tointegrate remote e-stop buttons and otherfeatures.

The self-adjusting integrated HF clutchdrastically reduces downtime andmaintenance costs.It contains a multi disc dry clutch that is rigidlyconnected to the splitter box and has anoutput shaft capable of transmitting torqueeither radially by a pulley or in line with acardan shaft or flexible coupling.The TowerClutch is remotely operated anduses oil or air pressure for engagement.The robust splitter box eliminates flywheelside loads and torsional vibrations associatedwith modern high torque industrial engines.In extremely heavy-duty applications,the optional Kevlar friction disc assuresmachine uptime and extended operating life.In addition to hydraulic pumps,the TowerClutch heads accept a variety ofunique accessories such as pulleys, stub shaftPTOs, cardan shafts, pump clutches andelectric motor/generators.

Warning and alarm messages are sent via CAN BUS to the operating machinesPLC or Transfluid Display.The operating machines system can apply any intervention necessary to preventfailures. It followed, warning messages can eliminate machine down time andimprove productivity.In the event that warning messages are ignored or not received by the machinesoperating system the MPCB-R5 automatically shuts down the TowerClutch bydisengaging the main clutch preventing undesired and costly failures.
