Office Update
Our development has been
devastated this past month
with the death of two young
girls in a traffic accident.
Both of these young ladies
lived in the Trails. I am very
proud of the support that
both families have received
from our community and
surrounding communities.
Summer has come and gone;
fall is approaching quickly.
The leaves will change to
pretty colors and cover the
roads, making them wet and
slippery. Please drive care-
fully. Remember we have
many children but none to
spare.
Our summer at the beach
and pool went very well with
no closures, except for the
baby pool. As usual our sum-
mer staff returned to college
in August and we had to
overwork our remaining
help. I want to thank them
for sticking with us to the
end.
Mid-September our Mainte-
nance staff will be out on the
roads again repairing drain-
age ditches, trimming trees,
and repairing pot holes. The
speed bumps will be removed
this month along with the
reduced-speed signs. Securi-
ty will be closely monitoring
speed limits and stop signs.
My many thanks to the
administration staff for their
endurance and patience this
past summer, without them
we would be lost.

the mail the first week of
November. Please remember

“Our Angels”
As days go by we are going to live our lives without Taylor and Jasmine. We wanted to thank each and everyone personally
but that would be almost impossible because of the amount of love and support we received was unimaginable...never would
we have imagined that we (Carla and I), George, Alyssa, Chelsea, Makayla and Jason would have to say goodbye to the
girls who made us smile everyday. Taylor despite struggling with diabetes, never let anything hold her back. She lived her
life to the fullest; her laugh was contagious and when she would smile it would light up the room. Jasmine, sweet, funny,
strong willed and was never scared to be herself no matter the circumstance. Her smile was like a ray of sunshine that
warmed everyone’s heart every time she smiled.
We will never understand why but we have believed heaven has the most beautiful angels. Taylor and Jasmine you are
loved more than words can ever describe. Please watch over everyone who loves you.. We believe that someday we will see
each other again and each day we are one day closer to each other. Our families will never be the same without you.
Thank you so much for all the love, kindness and wonderful memories...it's never goodbye
Taylor and Jasmine, we will see you soon.

Fall Fun in the Trails Submitted By: Publications
some special people in my life. I re-
ceived gifts and flowers on a regular
basis, and cards on a daily basis. And at
that point I knew I was not on this jour-
ney alone, so many were involved that I
had to be positive and strong. I got my
strength from them! I put my journey
on Facebook - I wanted to keep every-
one updated. I was afraid when I was
told I would lose my hair - that turned
out to be very liberating. Then there
was surgery which was also very scary,
and I knew I would still have radiation
to go through. I firmly believe that
what carried me through the rough
times were the love and support that I
was surrounded by, the family
As we all know, October is Breast Can-
cer Awareness Month! I thought long
and hard about writing this article,
because I wasn't sure how to approach
it. I've decided to write from the pro-
spective of a patient/survivor! When
you hear those words "You Have Can-
cer", you think the worst. I was in shock
for 2 weeks, thinking what about my
husband, my children, my family and
friends, and then I said, are you just
going to sit here and take it, or are you
going to fight? I chose to fight! So with
my husband and children by my side, I
did just that. I embraced the journey, I
had a chemo date for each and every
chemo treatment, one on one time with
and friends who were always there to
cook, or drive or go out with, the ones
who could always make me laugh and
have a lot fun. Yes, my doctors were/are
awesome and they did their job well,
but my family and friends helped me go
forward with my motto,”Stay Strong,
Be Positive"! See your doctor, get your
mammogram, exercise, eat well, laugh
often and surround yourself with won-
derful people! Don't be afraid to take
advantage of other sources of support
such as the American Cancer Society
support groups and wellness classes.

ing the night away. Many laughs were
had, memories made, pictures taken,
and good times with family and friends.
It was a great weekend with something
for everyone!
Thank you to the clubhouse staff, the
beach and pool staff, security, the tal-
ented entertainers, and our very imagi-
native event coordinators Brian and
Sue Denham for making the summer
finale such a fun and memorable week-
end. We truly have something very spe-
cial here in "Our Trails"
band, they truly rocked the house! That
was followed by a great time with Rock-
in Robin and all the talented singers
taking part in karaoke. That was
just Saturday!
On Sunday there was The Hunton's
Annual Softball Game which is some-
thing to see! If you don't wish to play
the game it sure is funny to watch!
Then it was back to the TLTC deck for
a party with the awesome band Shake

Here in the trails we wrapped up sum-
mer in grand style! The weekend kicked
off with the beach blast where the
many flags, hung by Bill and Joanne

people to come on over and join in on
the fun. There was
an outrageous spread of incredible food
and all who attended enjoyed beautiful
weather, friendship, and camaraderie.

Items Needed for this project:
Empty milk jugs
Sharpie marker
pencil
Knife or x-acto knife
Rocks
Mini lights
Here’s how we made our easy Halloween Craft Milk
Jug Ghosts:
1. Clean out your empty milk jug.
2. Draw out your Halloween face using a pencil and then
complete the face with a permanent sharpie marker.
3. On the opposite side of the face, cut a 3 sided opening
flap just about 2 inches wide and 2 inches tall. (I would
highly suggest the adults handle this step)
4. Place a few rocks in the bottom of your milk jugs to
weigh them down. They are so light that if someone bumps
them they will fall. Or if you place them outdoors you don’t
want them to blow away.
5. In the same opening, add part of the string of lights in
it. Then lead the lights to the next opening. I added about
5 to 7 lights in each jug.
Voila! That’s it! You have super cute Milk Jug Halloween
Decorations for your home!
