Hwaseong Temporary Palace was the temporary residence of King Jeongjo when he visited Suwon. The palace is larger and more beautiful than any other temporary palaces of the Joseon Dynasty. G3 Yungneung andGeolleung Royal Tombs Yungneung is the joint tomb of Prince Sado (King Jeongjo’s father) and his wife Lady Hyegyeonggung, and Geolleung is the joint tomb of King Jeongjo and Queen Hyoui. Usually, these tombs are collectively called “Yunggeolleung.” There is a good hiking trail in the forest behind the tombs, and the area is considered to be one of the Eight Scenic Sites in Hwaseong, especially when it snows.

F5 The Royal Tomb of King Sejong (Yeongneung Royal Tomb)
Yeongneung is the joint tomb of King Sejong, the fourth ruler of the Joseon Dynasty, and his wife Queen Soheon. It was the first joint royal tomb of the Joseon Dynasty that combined the tombs of the king and queen, and became the standard for royal tombs in the early Joseon Period. There is a walking path that goes through forest on the way to the Royal Tomb of King Hyojong.
